Shit!
We are doomed!
How do governments leave Twitter?
I wish Canadian politicians and governments would quit relying on Twitter as a primary communications tool, too. I'm not so bothered by their mere use of Twitter, as I am by the fact that they don't provide a free, truly "public" alternative.
The poster argues that the channel should be "free to use". I would argue that a primary comms channel must also be free to access without requiring an account. Otherwise it's not a "public" comms channel at all, it's a walled enclave.
It's the 1990s all over again, you're a 10yo #ADHD child and Santa finally brought you a NES Control deck for Christmas, and you're here scratching your head watching at the stock photo on the box and noticing some things are obviously very wrong in it. 😁

Let's dive into the importance of using a professional email address for SMEs and find out which secure email provider to choose.Tuta
I love Tuta, it's a great service and I use it, but I feel it's a bit disingenuous to say it's encrypted when emails that come from anyone who *doesnt* use Tuta still come over unencrypted which is likely 90% of all emails one will receive
Just something that always rubbed me the wrong way 🤷

I searched earlier for a guide on how to switch from Proton to @Tutanota but didn't find anything quickly. So - I went about figuring out how to do it myself - and succeeded. I then decided to write a quick and dirty guide for migrating.
This does *not* include migrating custom domains - this is just the basic moving mail and calendar.

Did you know monocles chat supports pinned messages? You can pin multiple messages, stacked so the most recent appears on top. In the next release you’ll also be able to jump straight to a pinned message’s location in the conversation and also pin images and files.
- Pinned messages stay visible and are easy to find later.
- You can pin multiple messages at once.
- Pins are useful for action items, decisions, and deadlines to keep conversations focused.
- Save frequently used links, instructions, images or files.
> in the client only
You mean it's purely local, other participants don't see the messages you have pinned?

How is the mainline Linux and u-boot support for this Qualcomm SoC? The main thing I've heard about Qualcomm SoCs and the kernel is that, at least on Android devices, they tend to have their own kernel forks.
Also, have you had a chance yet to write anything about this Qualcomm processor module and what distinguishes it from the others?
Recently we've been thinking about how we share code (and other design files) for our #OpenSource projects and products.
@amcewen has written about the flaws in centralized options like Github and Gitlab, and why self-hosting isn't the answer.
Maybe we need some #CodeCommons?

Varnish Cache project to change its name to Vinyl Cache with after the next release (after today's 8.0.0, in March), per @bsdphk:
We have tried to negotiate with Varnish Software for many months about this issue, but their IP-Lawyers still insist that Varnish Software owns the Varnish Cache name, and at most we have being offered a strictly limited, subject to their veto, permission for the FOSS project to use the “Varnish Cache” name.We cannot live with that: We are independent FOSS project with our own name.
So we will change the name of the project.
The new association and the new project will be named “The Vinyl Cache Project”, and this release 8.0.0, will be the last under the “Varnish Cache” name. The next release, in March will be under the new name, and will include compatibility scripts, to make the transition as smooth as possible for everybody.
