Anyone out there using an Android device as remote control? We'd need to find out if some of ours are still doing there jobs. At codeberg.org/IzzyOnDroid/Every… we have

and some other apps in need of a check-up. Who can help us there?

Was würdet ihr tun, wenn nach 14 Jahren nun doch mal ein neuer Linux-Rechner dran ist? Wie aussuchen? Wo kaufen? Worauf achten? Office, Bildbearbeitung mit GIMP und Raw, gelegentlich Filmschnitt. Komplexeres muss er nicht können, aber das möglichst noch in 10 Jahren. Desktop oder Notebook mit Docking Station - bin noch nicht entschieden...
It wasn't updated since 12/2023, but still sees more than 100 installs per month here. In its issue tracker, there are reports of crashes, and Spotify being broken. Does it still work for you? Or should we rather remove it?

Hey, #Docker community! Anyone using the Portarius app (apt.izzysoft.de/packages/si.zb…) to manage their Docker containers via the Portainer API? The app hasn't seen an update since 11/2022, and it's repo was archived 3/2024.
Is the app still useful to you? Shall we keep it? Monthly installs here are down to < 10.
Linux Deploy (apt.izzysoft.de/packages/ru.me…) hasn't seen any update since 2020, and its repo fell dormant in 2021. We still see about 40 installs per month from our repo.
Anyone here using it? Is it still working and considered useful, so we should keep it?
It wasn't updated since 2022, and the source repo was archived in 2023 – so it's unclear if it's still working at all (to download firmwares from Xiaomi).

It had its last release in 2022, and the source code archived in 2024 – while still being marked "alpha" and "not sure if it works", but we still see around 20 installs (aka downloads by F-Droid clients) per month.

it's a client for Youtube Music, but was last updated 2020. Still shows about 15 installs (downloads by F-Droid clients) per month here. We wonder if it still works, so we shall keep it – or not, and it should be removed. Feedback appreciated!
The Android Airplay client DroidPlay (apt.izzysoft.de/packages/com.t…) hasn't seen any update for 10 years. We still see regular downloads from F-Droid clients for it. As there are not many alternatives, we'd still keep it in our repo if it's still useful.
Anyone here using it? Does it still work, or should we rather drop it?

Anyone using RPi Camera Viewer (apt.izzysoft.de/packages/ca.fr…)? Is it still working and useful? Its last release was made in 2019, and not even issues are replied to anymore since at least 2020 – so we wonder if we should remove the app from #IzzyOnDroid
We see still a lot of downloads for Blade (apt.izzysoft.de/packages/v.bla…) – despite the app being seemingly abandoned, and issue tracker plus other reports say "Spotify broken", "Deezer broken", "App crashes"…
Anyone here using the app without issues? As it seems to be in higher demand, we hesitate removing it. Though the downloads could just be single-try, fails, delete…
I'm new to the @debian game. I just saw in the documentation "Upgrades to Debian 13 "trixie" from the previous release, Debian 12 "bookworm", are automatically handled by the APT package management tool for most configurations. "
However, my debian didn't offer me upgrade in any way. Do I have to install a specific upgrade package?
Currently I'm using a standard installation based on KDE. Or is upgrade only supported in gnome stock software packages?

I checked the @gajim issue tracker for PKIX over Secure HTTP (POSH) support and it looks like it was implemented already 5 years ago: dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/-/is…
But I can't find the setting in the current #Gajim version and didn't managed to connect to my #xmpp server so far which uses "PKIX over Secure HTTP" for ssl verification.

The domain zwezo.o-k-i.net automatically creates mirroring #Mastodon #bot accounts upon any #Twitter handles put into their search field, without authorization by the original Twitter profile owners.
I doubt, this is #legal, under EU law at least & find it highly #disturbing, that anybody can create bot accounts referring to others, who are neither aware of this nor authorized this in person.
