Switched from #Spotify to #Tidal. ๐ŸŽ‰

Reason? Spotify is the biggest player, but rips off artists the most. And now they generate AI crap to rip off artists more. ๐Ÿค‘

It took me a year or so from decision to actually doing it. It's cool that favourites and playlists can be migrated using #TuneMyMusic for few dollars. But I had shared playlists with several people, I used the jam feature from time to time etc.. The social aspect of any service is always the best way to lock users in a one platform, and It worked on me also. But this situation of being a hostage somewhere is uncomfortable for me so much, that I did the switch finally. ๐Ÿซ‚

Now I am in phase of discovery of the Tidal service. Maybe I will find some missing killer feature and I will return, but I am fully decided to give it proper trial. ๐Ÿ˜…

Spotify as a mainstream service has advantage of wide device support, that could be one of the challenges. ๐Ÿคท

On the other hand I immediately liked, they have a DJ plan to allow you mix the music in supported DJ software. Sadly my favourite software @mixxx is not supported. ๐ŸŽ›๏ธ

I've been with Tidal for almost two years and I think the only missing killer feature is the ubiquity of Spotify Connect. My mom has a Lidl radio that only supports Spotify. But I solved it by a Bluetooth-to-jack device from Ali for 120 CZK.
The audio quality is a big plus of Tidal. If you have a good DAC and speakers, you can hear the difference.

By the way, what also helped a bit with the switch is, that all podcasts started to monetize, thus on spotify there is always only a short preview version of the podcast. Full one is usally available as a user specific rss link. This pushed me to find separate podcast solution and I am much happier with the solution I found:

I asked a shop employee at the supermarket where the cocoa powder was. She laughed, and led me to the shelf.

There were none left. Big gap.

She grabbed a foot stool, climbed up on it and started reaching round the back of the next product.

That's very sweet, really trying for me.

She wasn't even looking, like she knew there was one there. Smile on her face.

There was.

She handed it to me.

"Was that for you?"

Big smile. "Yes, but don't worry, they will re-stock, I'll get one later."

So sweet. I thanked her profusely.

Life is made of magical interactions like this. Connections. Short overlaps into other peopleโ€™s lives.

I really wish Prusa had tried to work with OSI, CC, and/or OSHWA instead of greenfielding a new license.

Even if the principle behind this license wasn't misguided, I don't think it's precise enough to legally accomplish any of the goals Prusa stated.

Thank you for these regular reports on HackerOne.

I always get a good chuckle out of them as I read Hackerone as in Toblerone (with the swiss german pronounciation as in youtu.be/wyLXR8EgDrc?t=6) before correcting myself.

And it is hilarious and makes me think of chocolate, which is so much nicer than thinking about bug-bounties.
