En fait cet extrait est trop court pour en déduire votre attitude à ça, mais pour moi la laïcité est l'une des plus précieuses valeurs de la République. Ce que je vois maintenant, c'est que beaucoup de gens, surtout à la gauche, de facto prônent la laïcité pour tous sauf pour les musulmans, ce qui m'inquiète. L'islam est une religion dont certaines dénominations perçoivent la haine contre les « mécréants » comme gravée dans le Coran : « Tuez les polythéistes où que vous les trouviez… » — je suis polythéiste, moi. Our labrador is naturally extremely vocal. So, we've been trying to teach her to speak on command, which she does somewhat intermittently. I managed to catch some of the sounds today on a recording and they're hilarious.
@ginsenshi Yeah, despite how vocal she is, she finds being asked to speak a tiny bit stressful sometimes for some reason, which is why I quit when I did and gave her big cuddles. @Piciok This is just a playlist browser at the moment. Just don’t see the need to implement a media player, or features like that actually into the thing. I believe VLC, and media player classic support switching audio tracks if your provider has that. I’ve never seen a provider that has audio description. Please give me one if you have one.
@Paweł Masarczyk @Brandon Vow! This looks amazing. It turns out it almost 100% works fine on linux with orca as well. I just need to tweak player selection a little. I am already creating M3U8 playlists with local content for my friends, so this might become awesome tool for them. The fact it can handle EPG is great too.
@Brandon I think in the simplest form possible, there is no need to build. Installing the dependencies including wxpython and sqlite is enough for directly running the python script.
I have another question, you have bound events when changing the selection of the listboxes on the main window and you are also handling arow key presses. Overriding up and down arrow keys affects selection reporting on linux. Navigating with page up and page down keys is working fine and it's accessible. Nawigating with arrow keys makes accessibility worse. Simply removing handling these key presses makes it work fine for me. Is there a reason you have implemented it like that please? One more little thing I have discovered. I can't activate the menubar by pressing alt key or F10 key on linux, thus I'm googling if I can make it work.
Most Linux things suffer from that accept for Mozilla things if I remember correctly. Maybe there's something I can do I don't know. I'm glad it worked out. I'm just vibe coding this thing. It surprises me I continue to have a working product/haven't axidentally put the wrong conf file up on my Github.
@Brandon Damn, you have really made my day with such a simple and working app. I am thinking about other little features such as ability to use either kodi or mpd (music player daemon) or even generic upnp devices (such as smart TV) over a network as a player. Kodi and MPD appear to be doable easily, generic UPNP I have to research. I think I'll try to calm down my-self from the excitement a bit and I'll try implementing these next weekend or so.
@pvagner UPNP is a good idea. I might implement it. I want to add looks for executable for Linux for a few players, and Mac players as well, then release another exe.
@Brandon I am just thinking out loud again. There is a command line client for MPD called MPC and a different one for kodi called kodi-send. These may not be that readily available on windows I am not sure. So given all of this I can't decide between trying to come up with a generic template for an external players so we can add our own into the config or bother with networking stuff.
I am fixing all the media player paths and adding mac support, but UPNP will come once I split this into a few different files, sso I can deal with it affectively with AI. I'm kind of mixed on adding it, but I plan to add airplay/chromecast/UPNP as well. I don't know if it's worth it. I just want to send the URL's and if the devices can decode it that's it from me. I don't think this software is as required on MacOS, but it's not much effort to get it working aparrently.
Ok I have split the thing up. Took me a few goes to get a version that seemed to work. Let me know if anything is broken. At some point I want to remove the big version.
@Brandon For me it's all working fine except of that menu bar thing on linux. Setting that environment variable is the only way I have found it working.
Oh, and unfortunatelly that exception on exit is back when running main.py...
TypeError: invalid result from IPTVClient.Destroy(), a 'bool' is expected not 'NoneType'
The traceback on exit is fixed. I am working on environment variables being included for popular Linux distro's. Wonder how this will go for you? I'll be away for the afternoon though.
@Brandon Excuse me for the late reply. All is working fine for me on arch linux now, except of the fact, setting up environment variable NO_AT_BRIDGE disables screen reader accessibility for wxgtk and with this variable setup, the app is no longer accessible with orca. I haven't looked at the other variables but my guess is that except of UBUNTU_MENUPROXY we don't need setting up the others.
@pvagner Is the app accessible on arch by default now? Or should I remove the variable for everything accept Ubuntu? I'm just trying to understand what you are saying.
@Brandon Yes, now it's all working for me out of the box. So to summarize I think the variable UBUNTU_MENUPROXY is usefull for all the distros including ubuntu and arch linux. Thanks for such a dedication. It's awesome.
@pvagner I'm now using Asahi Linux so I'm debugging more on Linux. I had to limit results on Linux because Orca and AtSpi would crash. Even with 50 results it still slows down... I'm still happy it works at all cross platform. At least I made some progress with the problem.
@Brandon The traceback on exit is now solved. Unfortunatelly the custom alt key handling does not appear to work for me here. I think trying to reimplement it from scratch is difficult. I have discovered setting an environment variable like this in the main function before starting the wxpython app makes it work for me.

Les Églises au milieu des villages / le jours du Seigneurs / les délires des politicards Catho (comme Macron, Sarkozy entre autres)
Le prosélytisme, on le voit moins quand on est moins athée que moi, mais je ne le vois pas plus dans une religion que dans une autre
