We've stayed loosely connected, and I watched as he has done his best to steer the community away from the ridiculous place we currently find ourselves. For Alex to be entirely fed up is not a small thing. He has spent more than a decade being unfathomably nice and patient about it. I was there.

My message has been related but a bit different. The complexity here is unsustainable. As a leader of engineering teams over the last 10 years, I've watched them become less and less empowered. There are a lot of engineers who still care a lot about building something good. But I watch as they drown in complexity. They want to fix things, but they literally can't. And that frustration comes out in all kinds of dysfunctional ways.

We announced FreeDOS on June 29, 1994 … which makes us older than Amazon, Wikipedia, and Google.

I wrote a lot of code early on, but these days I'm here to support others who write the code.

Flying to Berlin this week, from 19th of March till April 4th, would love some recommendations!

I am mostly looking for community, so less touristy attractions, or mega parties, and more smaller kinky / queer community events, and local day to day stuff to enjoy. Would love to meet up with other kinky queer folk, trans activists etc. I hope the saunas are trans friendly.

It turns out that chat-based large language models such as GPT-4 get so distracted trying to process these representations that they forget to enforce rules blocking harmful responses, such as those providing instructions for building bombs.'

1x Sattelschoner (neu, unbenutzt) und 1x alter Schreibtischsessel, der noch für Garage/Baustelle o.ä. taugt. Bezüge gebe ich gern mit, Rollen würden noch gegen Hartrollen ausgetauscht.

All of the cell technologies I've encountered at the low-cost end of the market have usability downsides, so I end up buying the more expensive Piezoelectric braille displays.
The most interesting technologies I'm aware of currently are those by Dot Inc., and by Tactile Engineering, both capable of supporting multi-line Braille/graphics-capable displays.
A patent search will show numerous other proposals developed over the past several decades, few of which have ever become publicly available products.
