Let's recap how the clock works shall we?
At midnight, a new day starts, so the time gets zeroed to 00:00, at least here in Europe. The clock value gets increased every minute all the way to 23:59 after which the day is concluded and a new day starts.
So if you claim that a ticket is valid from the time of first check-in till 00:00 on the same day, the validity interval is actually negative or zero at best. 🙄
@partim i thought i saw something about japanese timetables running from something like 04:00 to 27:00 so the hours after midnight count as part of the preceding day
but some brief searchengineering suggests i might have been misled … or it might have been oldskool tv scheduling, dunno
Check your IP cameras: There's a new Mirai botnet on the rise
Yet another Mirai-family botnet growing by exploiting vulnerabilities in end-of-life devices, highlighting the importance of replacing EOL devices.
Depending on the device and its hardware, users _may_ be able to flash a different operating system or firmware onto a device that is no longer being maintained by the manufacturer to "extend its life."

Yes, our phones are ‘listening’ to what we say.

I've always envied Adobe Reader/Acrobat users and tablet apps users who have forever been able to freely write on PDFs as if they are physical sheets of papers. Yes, you can use #Xournal++, but I want it as a streamlined UX built into my day-to-day #GNOME PDF reader app.
Although it was not implemented in #Evince, the #Poppler library has some support for ink-like handwritten #PDF annotations.
I have now put together usecases & broad ideas into this #GNOMEPapers ticket: gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/Incubat…
With all apologies to Roy Kent: It's here! It's there! It's every-bleeping-where. Thunderbird, Thunderbird.
Thanks for the share!
In just over 8 days (12 September) you can watch the twelfth edition of @inclusivedesign24 #id24, a free online event that requires no payment, no sign-up, and no wading through overt product pitches:

Just look at that schedule and those great topics and speakers.
Set up a viewing party. Binge watch them again over the weekend. Participate in real-time to ask questions.

We are now down to 4, I repeat FOUR, open issues for #curl.
⌨️ prayer for the un-entitled user
"Like the rest of the web platform, interoperability is key to accessibility support. It is safe to say at this time (September 2024) that the display of title attribute content on keyboard focus is not implemented interoperably."
How dumb do you need to be to try to use illegal union-busting tactics against your law faculty?
The city of Columbus Ohio got hacked by a ransomware gang, they didn't pay the ransom so the gang released half of the stolen data which included secret police and prosecutor files. The leak exposed countless victims, witness and confidential informants personal info and communications with the city.
The city claimed NO info was leaked. A cyber security enthusiast went to the media and proved otherwise.

A rare case where you as an author need to do nothing. Though if you start doing _some_ things you can break it.

I once found a mysterious device hanging from the electrical outlet on a train. It turned out to be a 100 W USB PD power supply that somehow lost its cover.
The train staff was apparently too scared to remove it, so they just marked it with a sticker.
With a 3D printer and a person capable of 3D modelling, the charger didn't end up as electronic waste but got a second life!
