@JeffBishop Not that I necessarily see this as something which is likely to happen but what would happen if there were ever accessibility issues, no matter how unintended, with an update of the Be My Eyes app. Would BME allow AppleVis the freedom to point this out in a review or forum post??
@DavidGoldfield @JeffBishop That's an excellent question! We discussed this in detail during our recent podcast interview with the Be My Eyes team. Yes, we are completely free to critique Be My Eyes if their app is inaccessible or for any other reasons that warrant discussion on AppleVis. They will not interfere with or influence our team and their opinions. I hope this reassures everyone that AppleVis and its community can freely express any necessary criticisms towards Be My Eyes without fear of suppression.
Let's recap how the clock works shall we? At midnight, a new day starts, so the time gets zeroed to 00:00, at least here in Europe. The clock value gets increased every minute all the way to 23:59 after which the day is concluded and a new day starts.
So if you claim that a ticket is valid from the time of first check-in till 00:00 on the same day, the validity interval is actually negative or zero at best. 🙄
@partim yes, I think validity till 24:00 would make it clear that it goes till the end of that particular day. Also using time values like 00:01 and 23:59 makes it much more clear for everyone without harming the validity much 😉
@partim i thought i saw something about japanese timetables running from something like 04:00 to 27:00 so the hours after midnight count as part of the preceding day
but some brief searchengineering suggests i might have been misled … or it might have been oldskool tv scheduling, dunno

I've always envied Adobe Reader/Acrobat users and tablet apps users who have forever been able to freely write on PDFs as if they are physical sheets of papers. Yes, you can use #Xournal++, but I want it as a streamlined UX built into my day-to-day #GNOME PDF reader app.

Yesterday I bought the web book Every Layout (every-layout.dev/), which teaches how to do CSS layout the right way. Now, I wonder if we could get National Braille Press or a similar organization to do a Braille version with tactile graphics, so fully blind people could more easily get their heads around this aspect of front-end web development. (I have enough usable vision to look at the graphics if I really need to.) Of course, testing one's own layouts would still be a challenge.
Somehow I've gotten stuck with working on frontend styles for an SSG-based website at work as a totally blind person, since I'm the only one that knows HTML/CSS/JS and we have specific brand requirements so it can't be avoided. The embarrassing dance of "How does this look now?" is tiring to everyone involved and slightly humiliating. I tried leveraging GPT vision in my workflow, which catches some things, but more often than not it's overly optimistic and wrong.
Context aside, I would love such a book and even more, would love a way to circumvent layout validation always having to be a thing (but I'm less optimistic about that). Besides paying people to check my layouts all the time I don't know what the correct answer is here.

The leak exposed countless victims, witness and confidential informants personal info and communications with the city.

I once found a mysterious device hanging from the electrical outlet on a train. It turned out to be a 100 W USB PD power supply that somehow lost its cover. The train staff was apparently too scared to remove it, so they just marked it with a sticker.
With a 3D printer and a person capable of 3D modelling, the charger didn't end up as electronic waste but got a second life!
