Meson 1.8.0 is finally out. The way options can be set and unset has been completely reworked. This is probably the biggest refactoring ever in Meson. It took me on the order of 1.5 years to get it done.

We got talking and it turns out he is an accessibility consultant for companies, including video game developers and has worked with Sony on God of War and other products!

He is entirely #blind from birth, but loves video games so is passionate about accessibility in the sector.

One of the cool traditions that I appreciate very much in Canadian elections is how we tone things down on Election Day.
1) Most people stop talking partisan politics -- It's the day to vote, debate is over. That's why you won't see me posting partisan stuff today (US Presidential Interference aside).
2) In general, it's considered impolite to ask people who they vote for. Even when door knocking for a party on the doorstep, the question is not “will you be voting for us”, it is “may I ask who you might vote for”, and very often the answer is, “no, you may not ask”, and that's OK and everyone moves on.
People respect other's right to make their own decision.

You might have seen a post being shared around saying Canada has opened up its suicide hotline to American citizens with Trump threatening a shutdown of ours in the US.
The number it links to is the Trans Helpline. This is likely a right wing attempt to try to flood and overwhelm the hotline and hurt trans people.
Please be careful and check on this before you share them. And if you see an account for a Jeras Ikehorn which seems to be bridged here from Bluesky, know this is the second time in several weeks they have blatantly shared misinformation that harms trans people.
