This question has been thrown at me several times this morning from the Apple keynote event. Remember that the LIDAR which is helpful to so many blind or low vision folks for detecting objects etc is present in the iPhone 17 pro and 17 pro Max, it is not present in the iPhone 17 or iPhone 17 air.
@FreakyFwoof @ppatel Just reread the original post. It certainly makes sense given that both Air and 17 are less powerful and thinner profile devices. Pro is a Pro for a reason! :)

Is there anyone on my timeline using Remote Incident Manager on Mac OS 15.6.1? I’ve been trying to use this with AIRA but don’t want to waste my minutes as RIM crashes as soon as it tries to establish the connection. There are known issues with this OS, as noted here, manual.getrim.app/en/macos/iss…, but not as severe as what I am experiencing. I would like to test with someone before calling AIRA again. Anyone? Thank you!
Ah, wonderful! And just like that, I've used up my alloted 30 minutes with Remote Incident manager by troubleshooting their crashing issues. I connected remotely from another machine but, apparently, was counted as connected even though there was no active session. Not good! :)

there's an old comment (~2015) on HN by the rsync.net team saying they removed WebDAV support from their service because of issues with mod_dav in Apache and it was abandoned / couldn't reach the devs...
but the git history disagrees with that. It came back to life.
you could run another SFTP server on a different port or in a container. Just add the keys you want. It's what I use for personal transfers between my stuff.
it would need to be SFTP in a jail/container that's behind a wireguard tunnel that goes to a cloud server... would not be fun to set that up; would have to definitely use a separate port from 22 and then I couldn't integrate it with my LDAP auth as easily unless I setup all the pam ldap shit...
edit: also some of the things I use this for do not support SFTP, sooo
@verita84 I'm so mad at about it too, it's insane. Trying to figure out the right goddamn commands to make a role and policy and then apply it is frustrating. Everything feels so opaque without the UI. The mc command just isn't good and their docs suck
Yeah. So glad I went back to NFS instead of that shit. I was a big fan of them for years and even helped in their Slack channel and earned a minio sweater.

@verita84 there was a bug at one point where deletes didn't actually work, but it returned a 200 response code. I looked through their codebase and they weren't actually testing the functionality. They were just faking a success code to the command line tool. I asked them in their slack why they weren't actually testing the real functionality of Minio and they just made stupid excuses.
One problem with webdav is that there isn't a standard way to write partial files. The spec only allows complete overwriting of files. Apache and others provide an extension to do partial updates, but as you mention in your post, the v is for version, and so it wasn't designed to do partial updates, only wholesale replacement.
I can dig up references that talk more about it, if you want.
I was looking at it for general usage, where users expect to be able to do partial updates of large files and not have it take a minute to update. Some clients can do partial updates, but I abandoned the idea of using webdav because none of the clients publish what features like these they support, so how knows when macos or windows will break/deprecate/remove partial updates.
@encthenet It would be nice to have it for sure, I really feel like S3 should have never escaped Amazon and something like a refreshed WebDAV should have been done

a few of my friends have been reporting some not so awesome changes on the #sunoAI websight. Apparently for them, the library is now inaccessible, the creat dialog is entirely not itself, and the sliders in the create dialog also are not accessible. So far I haven't seen these changes, but at least 2 of my friends have reported this. Anyone have any idea how to possibly return it to it's previous state. Devs: if you're keeping a device on iOS 18/watchOS 10/etc. for testing, now is a good time to go turn off automatic updates!

I set my personal blog up so it approves all followers automagically (Soapbox), because I'm fine with anyone following me what wants to, and I don't want to be bothered with new followers in my alerts. However I'd like to know who my new followers are because there's a chance I might want to reciprocate, so is there a way to check this, maybe friends, group: followers... Sort by date added maybe?
@Kāpitan my personal Friendica node automatically follows back and there is no way to disable it, and you can always see your followers in your contacts
@pasjrwoctx👽 Yeah, I didn't want that option, my home timeline is busy enough that I don't need to indiscriminately follow people back. Only bad part about seeing your followers in your contacts, is that they're only sorted alphabetically.
@Kāpitan I wish I could have it where anyone can follow, but I dont follow back automatically, currently I can only manually unfollow, and yes a busy time line is good but also so very bad especially on shared hosting, it causes me headaches if my feed is ripping all day long, and yes the contact list is a bit of a pain, but I still love my friendica, it really over all is a great platform.

- jedna kriticka chyba pri pojmenovani data stavu scrollview, nesedeli stringy - 2x zbytecne definovani stejnych veci - pouzivani deprecated React featur (forwardRef). Tohle jde za mnou, protoze poctive upgraduju pres ncu. - clumsy animace. Pro animace proste nemam cit, radsi je vsecky zrusit!
If it's anything like previous upgrades, I'll most likely be waiting until October or November to grab them. Hopefully there won't be many serious bugs this time, but somehow I doubt it.
#Tusky 31 is right around the corner. This is a smaller release with some nice improvements to filtering and the scheduled status view. Tusky 32 will then be the big one with a rewrite of the timeline UI inculding supprt for quote posts. It will take a while to implement this, but trust me it will be worth it.

Je vis sans voiture (non pour le climat, mais parce que je suis aveugle), et je vous dis, c'est vachement difficile. Le transport en commun est super mal développé malheureusement, malgré le fait qu'on pourrait le faire CO2-neutre ou presque (prenez l'exemple de Nice et ses bus électriques chargés par un panneau solaire). Mais non, on s'en fout généralement du transport en commun.
