#piraten

„Was wir anstelle totalitärer Chatkontrolle und Ausweispflichten wirklich
brauchen, ist eine längst überfällige Verpflichtung der

Opferhilfe und -beratung und zeitnahe strafrechtliche Ermittlungen.“ so unser EU-Abgeordneter Dr. Patrick Breyer.

We've added a new variable in `azuracast.env` called `INSTALL_PACKAGES_ON_STARTUP`, where you can specify any custom packages installable using "apt-get install" to install when your AzuraCast container spins up.

Along with this, we're removing some optional packages that we don't use out of the box to make the main image smaller for everyone, namely several extra LADSPA processing plugins. You can easily get them back using this new environment variable: github.com/AzuraCast/AzuraCast…

Way back in 2021, I called out #Substack as a scam because it was masquerading as a service provider when it fact it was paying certain writers (often secretly) to create content for them. (buttondown.email/thehypothesis…) They had an editorial mission and a paid writing staff, but claimed to be a neutral service provider like Etsy for authors. Here's how that story is going ...

Mastodon, seis meses después de la invasión tuitera: “Ha mostrado ser una alternativa”

Oh, and someone just discovered that there are single use payment cards and they can be abused to game the system. Not a good idea - the fraudster can always be identified and held liable.

Yet more Press that gets Mastodon wrong!

Mastodon’s growth has not slowed down. We just added 1 million users in less than a month—for a total of 11 million!

There was a momentary spike in November that resulted in Mastodon hitting 2.5 million MAUs, most generated from sign-ups.

But since then, the rate of growth has been consistent. In fact, compared year-over-year, sign-ups have more than tripled.

And that’s just looking at sign-ups!

Reading about that Press Gazette article, it seems they have an axe to grind against Mastodon.

Sure, Alphaville closed their Mastodon server. But why?

Because they allowed open sign-ups, which enabled anyone to join their server, and Alphaville didn’t have the resources to moderate it. Yet the Press Gazette don’t mention that.

Meanwhile, @TexasObserver runs their Mastodon server quite well, and even used it for crowdfunding—which has helped their publication survive!

I often wonder why Press gets the reporting of Mastodon and the Fediverse so wrong.

And it’s because they’re not actually doing reporting. They just want to repeat the current narrative.

Wow! Mastodon is growing fast!

Wait! It’s dying!

Well, actually, it’s growing but its growth is slowing even though I’m offering no stats to back up that assertion! And I’ve cited another inaccurate media report to back me up!

This entire narrative arc occurred within the past 6 months.

For my latest release entitled 'a Moment of Solitude', I decided to build down towards a state of calm. Starting out with up-beat grooves and rhythmic elements, by the last few tracks it's relaxed, drum-free and hopefully puts you in a place of contemplation and thoughtfulness. Check it out via one of the links below:

LOL! Meta exists to track people. That's their whole game. If they can't track people, why do they even exist?

If they create a decentralized social network that uses ActivityPub and is compatible with Mastodon, how are they going to monetize?

Will they convince every owner of an instance to install a tracker so Meta can feed people ads?

😆

Not if I can run my own instance for $5/month.

Accessibility vs emojis — 6 great guidelines for usage: uxdesign.cc/accessibility-vs-e… #emoji #a11y #accessibility

Me, behave? Seriously?

As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladdin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with 7 men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac Man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies that always had the munchies.

The fault is not mine!

HTML Signatures? Awesome?? 🧐
HTML in E-Mails is bloody overhead and a first class privacy & security risk! Just search for "html email security" and you get answers like this:

So PLEASE increase security and privacy instead of gimmicks and bloat stuff!

Whoever want bloatware can simply use Outlook!
