Does anyone know any way to verify that the account at floss.social/@gnome is official?
I suggested to them they might verify their web link, but as far as I can tell the haven't? Also emailed GNOME via their official website to check if this is their account, but didn't receive a response.
Any ideas? Anyone know someone at GNOME who could verify?

Google has just updated its 2FA Authenticator app and added a much-needed feature: the ability to sync secrets across devices.
TL;DR: Don't turn it on.
The new update allows users to sign in with their Google Account and sync 2FA secrets across their iOS and Android devices.
We analyzed the network traffic when the app syncs the secrets, and it turns out the traffic is not end-to-end encrypted. As shown in the screenshots, this means that Google can see the secrets, likely even while they’re stored on their servers. There is no option to add a passphrase to protect the secrets, to make them accessible only by the user.
Why is this bad?
Every 2FA QR code contains a secret, or a seed, that’s used to generate the one-time codes. If someone else knows the secret, they can generate the same one-time codes and defeat 2FA protections. So, if there’s ever a data breach or if someone obtains access .... 🧵

I did something very similar, except I pitched my voice higher. It's pretty cool because it killed almost all the artefacts. I used text from Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers to test the voice, so it's very slightly inappropriate. I'd probably rate this PG13 if it was a movie.
@cordova5029 I love that it starts you out with random instruments every time. This would probably not have happened if it didn't give me that drum kit and bass. This app is way too fun.
@dragonstorm86 Just me making some music in Ableton Note for iOS. Sketch because they're not finished songs, just rough ideas. And they come straight out of Note, so they're pretty raw and unprocessed.
What's your setup for making music? Thought about getting my own equipment and starting once I get my new computer. A 9-year-old machine ain't gonna be able to take the strain of music production.

@sanfierro @BorrisInABox mostly a joke, but really who knows. I like the idea of a driving game with waterguns with that as the background. Maybe something to do for the next game jam.
So I've been making a daily song with Ableton Note for 2 weeks now, and the name is quite apt. At the end of pretty much every project, I just want to export it into a DAW and continue working on it, because there are aspects that the app just won't let me do... and I'm really not sure if it should. On the one hand, I really wish it did. Like let me add more than 2 effects per track, allow me to use external audio units, side chaining, etc. But on the other hand, if it did, it would lose its simplicity and charm. Even better would be the ability to export the session into individual stems, or even each part as a separate stem, so I could import it into another app and mix it there. Maybe I'll stop doing them daily, maybe I won't, or maybe I'll end up branching out and not sticking exclusively to my phone. Who knows. But it's certainly fun to do!
And naturally, it being an Ableton app, it only allows me to export to Live. But I can't use that due to accessibility reasons. So for now, I suppose I'm stuck with what the app lets me do unless I switch to something else. There's just no other app that comes close to being as much fun as Note. Garage Band teeeechnically works, but it's slow, loves to crash and get stuck a lot and it's just quite simply not as fun to use. Ah well.
Can't You just export the sketch to live, then export it to music xml or midi and import it into Logic? Of curse You would have to rebuild the synth and fx setup.
Just you wait, accessibility for Ableton Live is on their roadmap. In fact we're having a meeting next week where we'll discuss the testing of said accessibility once it arrives, which will start to happen sooner than later I guess.
@FreakyFwoof Turn on scene launcher. On the left you'll find numbers which play the whole scene/row. Double tap and hold on the scene you want and duplicate.
@BorrisInABox I just played Cyclepath, thank you for this novel to me experience! So far, the best strategy for me has been pressing D throughout the race, and I'm not even sure what it does. Does it make me go in circles or just keeps me in the rightmost lane? I'm currently waiting for my Windows virtual machine to finish "Getting Windows ready. Don't turn turn off your computer", then I'll probably play some more. Do you have any plans on publishing the source code or possibly Flatpak or AppImage builds? As a sighted person who has never played Blind man's bluff, little blind chicken, or whatever it's called in English, this is truly a new experience to me, thank you!
@sanfierro I don't actually think D does anything. The arrow keys control the bike, so left arrow moves left, and right arrow moves right. There are actually a lot of very interesting audio games out there that you could try! I'm happy I could give you a little look into the space. Maybe The Vale would be a fun experience too especially for someone just dipping their toes in.
Oh, maybe I just gave myself a placebo to think the keys A and D do something. I thought I actually controlled the bike, I really tried to press them at the right time, hehe. I guess I shall try The Vale at some point. The Slanderman one seems to have WASD and mouse movements seem to control the camera, yet I couldn't really grasp how to play it. You already gave me a unique experience and I don't know how to express this property, maybe it's only appropriate to say you're proud of yourself, your children, and maybe some types of groups you are part of, so I'm gonna put it like this: if I were you, I would be proud of myself (i.e. Talon) for giving sanfierro (it's my nickname) such an experience. @Kaliah I like it too! It's just really hard to mix them properly. Bits of the drums are really quiet but others are loud and I don't think I can adjust them individually...
By the way, If you want the project files or lossless versions of any of these, just let me know. You can do whatever you want with them. If you or someone you know have any use for them at all, go right ahead.

@Mayana Well it isn't actually very similar. The chords go 1 3 4 5, where as the cannon's chords would go 1 5 6 3 4, etc... er... I think? Hopefully I'm not super wrong. It just *sounds* similar.
Really enjoyed today's song sketch. Catchy and just calls for a heavy bass synth and drumbs. Maybe lead blues guitar soloing on the track. Nicely done!

@ground024 Korg iKaossilator exports all of it's tracks to wave, which is great considering any audio you import, even if it's the same tempo, ends up having weird artifacts anyway.

As a developer I am a little bit tired on reading lies regarding the subscription, so let's debunk some myths. First myth is that the subscription is needed to make the app sustainable.
I think I finally found a name to put on the work that needs to be done to bring all the fantastic ideas that come out of academia and esolang into the tooling for developers out there.
And I think this is the way out of the pit of pain and security vulnerabilities our digital infrastructure is in rn.
Otherwise not too much happened. There were a few fixes in switch rows and spin rows, and a new point release. So hopefully the next update will be a bit more exciting :)

Not all that much happened in the main branch this time, but we have 2 additions related to list rows, both originally by @brainblasted.
1. There's now AdwSpinRow - it's like AdwEntryRow but with GtkSpinButton.
It has basically identical API to GtkSpinButton - one difference is it omits the value-changed signal - it's 100% identical to notify::value and people can just use that instead.
And it looks a bit nicer than regular spin buttons.
