So I just realised that the "tech princess" link on my website was broken, after I made my instagram disappear.
Anyway, here's the back story: I was going to React Day Berlin in November 2019, and I was so bored of going to tech conferences in jeans and a t-shirt, and wanted to be *hyper* femme, so I bought a huge ballgown and wore that to the conference. I also tried to encourage some other femmes to join me, but didn't have much luck.
It was literally to poke fun at the fact that tech conferences are all jeans and t-shirts or like suits. I wanted to do something different.
This seems like a perfectly reasonable use of AI, especially when balanced against the documented already existing harm, which is doctors not paying close attention to their patients because the record-keeping requirements mean they are more focused on their EMR software than on the person in front of them.
I get that we all want to hate on inappropriate use of tools, but "fill out this form for me" seems like a domain where the AI error rate will easily be below the human error rate.
QC is already in the process of adopting Epic, which will be another $1B IT endeavor so this will make it sounds like they're being innovative. Also, if these tools are saving the raw audio, then transcribing it and summarizing it's providing the detail to catch errors as well. Since it doesn't remove the requirement that a doctor verify the notes.
I will note that man doctors in QC today do dictation to create patient encounter summaries (these are manually transcribed).

It's absolutely astounding how disconnected they are from the Linux community. What's even really the point of the LF if they just post and think like any SF tech startup ?

Linux Foundation is extremely corporate. It's a 501(c)6 trade association, not any kind of charity. It is extremely financially motivated. LF can sometimes be useful to free and open source software, but one must never rely on them to advance principles over their large corporate member interests.
(I'm speaking here as someone who co-founded what became a LF Collaborative Project, so I have some experience with them.)
But they are right. There are lots of municipalities that instinctively are precautious because of GDPR rules about data that has nothing to do with personal data protection. Just because people now think that data should be secret. Open data is what fuel lots things like open street map and what not.
Yep, just look at their "members" page: linuxfoundation.org/about/memb… Among the top "platinum" corporate members are Microsoft and Meta. The Linux Foundation is funded by wealthy corporations that are absolutely NOT on our side. All the big corporations that gather our data for nefarious purposes including giving it to the government on request are on this page.

A nechceš to dávat i na @vhsky? Kromě chvilky na nahrání videa tě to nebude nic stát. A když to chce pak člověk vložit do vlastní stránky, přijde mi to lepší než z Youtube, nikdy tam nehrozí reklamy, uživatelé nemusí nutně odsouhlasovat cookies Googlu... A mělo by to kanál i tady na Fediverse.

Když jsme u toho dosahu, tak každý kanál na PeerTube generuje taky podcastový kanál. Tenkrát jsem to zkoumal pro @mestskacyklistika a dá se to s trochou snahy zaregistrovat do podcastových platforem jako Spotify nebo Apple Podcast a hned má člověk další velkou skupinu potenciálních posluchačů.

@schmaker Asi v ničem jiném na Internetu nepanuje takový monopol jako ve videích, jejich distribuce je totálně centralizovaná. Je to tak trochu mission impossible, ale po havlovsku nepřemýšlím nad tím, jestli to má šanci na úspěch, ale dělám to, protože to považuju za správné. :)
@schmaker Jo, je fakt, že je to jeden segment, ale v tom je silnější než v samotném vyhledávání. Jinak o krátká videa se musí dělit s Tiktokem, ale to tedy za výhru nepovažuji. To je jako z louže do pořádně hlubokého septiku. :)
@sesivany @schmaker IG je už prakticky jen o krátkých videích, takže Meta je tam taky silný hráč. To už máš tři, a YT Shorts mi v tomhle přijdou vlastně nejslabší a těží především z toho, že je to all-in-one platforma, takže pokud nechci dělat obsah pro deset sítí, vyberu si YT, jelikož má nejširší cílovku a udělám tam jak krátké, tak dlouhé, tak i streamované video. Ale nejsem expert, @zbiejczuk by měl asi hodnotnější dojmy nebo data.
@sesivany @schmaker spíš můžu nabídnout dojmy než data; ve streamování je tady pak Twitch (což je ovšem taky BigTech, co si budem). u YT je ovšem ještě jedna podstatná věc / výhoda: a tím je to, že to je po Googlu (sic!) druhý největší vyhledavač a ta videa tam umístěná mohou na rozdíl od TikToku a IG získávat hromady views v mnohem delším časovém horizontu. A další "kartou" pro Shorts je to, že dost rodičů zakáže dětem IG a TikTok, ale YT málokdo.
@zbiejczuk @schmaker On je dost problém, že vyhledávače (mám na mysli Google a Bing, které mají 99 % trhu) zobrazují ve vyhledávání videí prakticky jen Youtube. Občas se tam objeví něco z Twitche, ale to je všechno. Zbytek internetového videa ignorují.
@sesivany @schmaker Jinak dělat věci tím správným způsobem je milé a snažím se hodně, ale jestli můj byznys jednou zkrachuje, bude to z 80 % kvůli této snaze. Nepoužívám reklamy, netrackuju lidi, neotravuju je… Ale pak taky pro spoustu lidí neexistuju. Dělat věci podle srdíčka je luxus. A já už si musím vybírat bitvy, protože doba je zlá.
@schmaker Chápu. Mě živí korporát, takže k tomu můžu mít čistě altruistický přístup. Jinak nikdo nikoho nenutí odcházet z YouTube. Velká pomoc je už jen to, že to člověk nahraje vedle toho do nějaké alternativy. Škoda, že nefunguje spolehlivě ten automatický sync z YT na PeerTube. Google se tomu aktivně brání, takže to je pořád rozbité.
Čemu se brání? Já kdybych měl jeden CLI příkaz, který ručně pustím ze své domácí IP adresy, a který mi zkontroluje YT kanál a co mi chybí na PeerTube kanálu přesype pomocí yt-dlp, tak je to minimální effort na mé straně a klidně to udělám. Nemusí to být přece všechno 100% automatické. Takhle od houpací sítě mi přijde, že to je jeden bash loop nebo tak něco. Nechcete to někdo navibekódit? 😆
@schmaker na yt-dlp je právě postavený ten sync, jenže kámen úrazu je v tom, že Google to neustále rozbíjí a člověk musí agresivně aktualizovat na nové verze yt-dlp, což v případě PeerTube by znamenalo, že bychom museli jet na vývojové verzi, což se nám úplně nechce.
Ale talk is cheap. Kdybys s tím úvodním přesunem videí chtěl pomoct, tak řekni. Buď to udělám manuálně, nebo bych zkusil vymyslet něco automatického.

FYI for TeamTalk server administrators who run Debian on an X86_64 machine, and may be considering upgrading to Debian 13: The ubuntu24-x86_64 package runs on Debian 13. You'll need the ubuntu22-x86_64 package for Debian 12. And BearWare, just because your opinion is that Ubuntu is the only version of Linux in existence, allow me to correct you to say that Debian was and is first. Adendum: Someone pointed out that if you're using TeamTalk client in a Linux GUI, the Ubuntu24 version has accessibility problems, and the Ubuntu22 version will still run on Debian 13.

The vast majority of the time was spent in navigating guidelines around packaging and screenshots (and I probably still have bits of that wrong), and being less familiar with Codeberg than GH.
Fedinspect is expected to be more interesting for developers poking around at nodeinfo and federation and stuff, rather than generally. I learned a few fun fedi-related things while testing it anyway, though.

this is incredibly blatant propaganda and every time you post shit like this it reminds me how divorced the linux foundation is from linux users. the GDPR is the bare fucking minimum protocol necessary to support for citizens to be able to trust corporations for things that otherwise would have to be restricted to much more highly regulated entities like the government itself
the GDPR is a protocol negotiated with corporations by representatives of the citizens in order to give corporations the opportunity to demonstrate they can do better than resting on their laurels and extracting a monthly tithe from anyone foolish enough to do business with them
