Sounds like a plan. I don't think I've ever experienced that kind of windchill in my life. (I remember Eloquence pronouncing windchill like "windkill," which seems appropriate sometimes. I wonder if it still does.) Sometimes I used to have to walk to the commuter rail station with a windchill of -15 F when I was up there, and it wasn't fun, but I'm pretty sure that was the most cold I've ever had to experience. We're getting freezing rain here, and people are advised to stay off the roads if at all possible. I was going to go to a meetup later today, but now it's happening over Zoom. It might get down into the teens in some places, and it's kind of an issue mostly because we don't normally prepare for that kind of cold. Freeze shelters need to open, pipes aren't very well insulated, and so on. But it isn't nearly as cold as what you're getting up there.
Someone might know of a way to do this, perhaps it already exists or I might need to have it coded.

During my youth I was raised on a diet of U.S. culture: the Ponderosa Ranch felt as familiar as the bridge of the USS Enterprise.The good night to John boy was often also the signal for me that I had to go to bed now. From the moment I earned my own money, I started spending as many vacations in the United States as my budget allowed.
Most of the books I have read and I am reading have been written by U.S. authors. Most of the movies and TV series I see were made by Hollywood companies. A significant part of my verbal and written output is in a language different from my mother tongue.
Today I would say that my command of the English language, my knowledge of U.S. history and culture easily surpasses that of the current commander in chief.
But other than with Randahl, the cracks in the relationship started to show much earlier. When I came to the U.S. in October 2001, it felt like a different country. I no longer felt welcome and therefore no longer came visiting.
A friend of mine, who was working in the U.S. at that time and who was on his way to earning a U.S. citizenship was told by a border agent: "Shut up little shit, I can do with you whatever I want." His sin was to point out the regulations my friend knew much better than that agent. He terminated his job at the next occasion.
There were many such moments and every time, another fatigue fracture in my relationship to the United States appeared.
Trump is for me just the nail in the coffin. It is very big and tough nail, because he was elected a second time. Everyone knew what kind of man they elected. And they chose to do so nonetheless. I cannot and will not forget that.

Wir als Behindertenbewegung müssen wieder radikaler werden. Lauter. Unverschämter.
Wir alle müssten jeden Ableismus stärker kontern und jedes hohle Versprechen klar benennen, wie es z.B. das einzelne Heldy das letztes Jahr beim Global Disability Summit in Berlin während der Rede des damaligen Bundeskanzlers tat.
Ich war in Rheinland-Pfalz das erste Kind, das an meiner Grundschule nach einer freien Entscheidung meiner Eltern aufgenommen und inklusiv beschult werden durfte.

Art. 3 Grundgesetz wurde um behinderte Menschen erweitert.
Das sind alles schöne Erfolge auf dem Papier, und auch die Gesellschaft scheint immer mehr die Diskriminierung von Behinderten abzulehnen.
Aber große, wirklich strukturelle Reformen hat es nie gegeben in den letzten 45 Jahren. Im Gegenteil.
Die letzte große „Protestwelle“ gab es vor ein paar Jahren unter „#NoIPReG“, seit unter Gesundheitsminister Spahn Behinderte mit Intensivpflege aus ihren privaten Wohnräumen in sog. „besondere Wohnformen“ gezwungen werden können.
Stattdessen sind wir hier im Fedi und wenn jemand sagt „Ey, mach Alternativtext, dann können Blinde teilhaben“ sind oft andere Leute wie „Juckt mich nicht hahaha ich block dich jetzt“ oder wenn wir irgendwie anders frech sind, kommt sofort die Tonpolizei um die Ecke und sagt uns, wir sollen das doch bitte freundlicher formulieren, denn nur so würde man uns ernst nehmen.
Wir haben derzeit keine aggressive Vertretung mehr, die Utopien für das Leben mit Behinderung zeichnet. Wir leben in Zeiten, in denen die Vorsitzenden der größten Selbstvertretungsverbände keine Probleme mit dem Behindertenbeauftragten der Bundesregierung haben, der selbst nur ein Token ist, weil „wir kennen ihn, er kennt uns, wir können arbeiten“.
Wer erzählt uns von den virtuosen, blinden Sterneköchen? Von den rollstuhlnutzenden Mechaniker*innen? Von den tauben Richter*innen?
Wer erzählt uns von den Kindern mit Trisomie 21, die nicht abgetrieben werden? Von den ME/CFS-Patient*innen, deren Krankheit endlich sinnvoll erforscht und geheilt wird? Von den Autist*innen, die in der Gesellschaft ohne zu maskieren existieren können?
Niemand tuts. Und warum? Weil das System uns überhaupt nicht die Gelegenheit dazu gibt.
Als ich das letzte Mal hier von blinden Sterneköchen sprach, sind darunter andere Blinde geslided, die sagten, das wäre unmöglich.
Mal ne Frage an Leute, die ihre eigene Website oder Fediverse-Instanz betreiben:
Habt ihr zufällig schon Erfahrungen gesammelt mit Anbieterinnen, die ladungsfähige Adressen vermieten? Für's Impressum? Oder nehmt ihr eure Privatadresse? Oder gar keine? (Falls ihr nicht gerade einem Verein, Unternehmen oder Behörde seid)
Privatadresse. Anbieter für ladungsfähige Anschriften sind wirklich sehr teuer (~100 Euro im Monat).
Bei der Impressumspflicht muss der Gesetzgeber dringend nachbessern. Für Einzelunternehmer im Homeoffice ist das komplett unverhältnismäßig.
Auf der anderen Seite bringt mir das als Verbraucher auch überhaupt nichts zu wissen, dass Meta in 1 Mark Zuckerberg Drive, San Francisco, California seinen Sitz hat. Verklagen kann ich die trotzdem nicht.
Das Behörden gelegentlich meine Anschrift brauchen kann ich ja nachvollziehen. Aber das kann man auch nicht öffentlich lösen. Bei der BNetzA bin ich als Telco ja zB sowieso gemeldet.
@daniel Dann sollten sich diese Kleinunternehmer auch angewöhnen, wenn sie mail versenden auch eine ernünftige Signatur zu verwenden. Die Impressum ist oft sehr sinnvoll bei der Anlage im ERP System und zum Stammdaten Abgleich.
Nicht unbedingt. Gäbe die Möglichkeit sich bei der Post n Postfach zu besorgen was je nachdem 4-5€ im Monat kostet und man dann als Anschrift angeben kann. Nachteil muss man halt jedes mal dann hinfahren / laufen aber wär ne Möglichkeit die Privatadresse geheim zu halten. ^^
Ihre Post vertrauensvoll aufbewahren und mit der Briefankündigung schon vorher wissen was ins Postfach eingelegt wird. Jetzt ein Postfach in der Nähe finden und gleich online beantragen.

Ironically, core GNOME apps have generic names. Plus, you can’t use GNOME branding unless you’re part of the GNOME project. If you target the GNOME environment, though, you are a “GNOME app”, in the same way you have iOS apps, Android apps, Windows apps, etc
