F-Droid Basic just got released for the first time. Built from the same code as regular @fdroidorg, it comes with a reduced feature set (no nearby share and no panic feature). Also it targets Android 13 and will soon be able to do unattended updates.
@xtaran As I understand it, it's for example for human rights activist in dangerous countries. If they are e.g. in danger of being arrested, they trigger panic with a special app. Then all apps that support the panic feature will react appropriately, like delete chat history, contacts or files. I'm not sure why anyone would want to hide F-Droid though.
@elgregor: The latter is exactly what I don't understand: Why is there a panic button in F-Droid? I'd expect them rather in an instant messenger app or an app using TOR. But not in a package manager. (Then again, F-Droid can use TOR… Oh well.)

Making up an example: you use Conversations for your "activist communication" but also have Threema installed. If both are there, both routes would be investigated. Make Conversations gone (via Panic button), and the focus would go to the one left (seems safe enough). There may be traces for forensics, yes; but let your canary die and your contacts can take measures.
End-to-End encryption is one of the good things we have with the current internet and app ecosystems. But it is under constant threat -- be it from EU's #chatcontrol, UK's "online safety bill" or the current renewed "EARN IT" effort in the US: eff.org/deeplinks/2023/04/earn… .... anyone of these efforts succeeding would be a dangerous dam break. Modern talking wasn't just a German thing, they were quite a hit here too. It's one of these weird things that every Polish person instantly recognizes, but if you show it to a foreigner, they have no idea what you're talking about.
@miki Oh interesting! Yeah it is the same over here. And even younger people often do not know any more who Modern Talking were. Interestingly enough, they actually managed to make the top ten in the UK in 1986 with their fourth single Brother Louie. The only top ten over there as far as I am aware.

The good folks over @accesskit are trying to change that with their #Foss project, #AccessKit. After a month of changes to libipuz, I finally got the new editing interface working. These changes make it possible to differentiate between broken puzzles and correct-but-unhelpful puzzles, with an API to fix the latter. As a result, I extended the #GNOME #Crosswords Editor to edit barred puzzles.
Note: barred puzzles are basically impossible to set, and I'm in awe of anyone who is able to make a grid work. Maybe someone can make a cool puzzle with this.

U Proton mail mi vadí, že nelze používat emailové klienty třetích stran. Tutanota, je i bezpečnější, než Ptotinmail, ale také musí člověk používat jejich klienta, což mi vadí. Mailbox, Startmail a podobné služby, mají zabezpečení stejné jak Protonmail, ale lze využívat aplikaci jaká ti vyhovuj. Tak můžes používat na Androidu Fairemail. Navíc u Mailboxu, lze zapnout šifrování veškeré pošty pomocí Gnupg klíče.
