The usual suspects, Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle etc. have a huge lobby sitting in Brussels to make sure that the companies will get a big piece of the cake. Open Source sadly has no lobby. I wish there was. Also the term 'sovereignty' is somewhat a buzzword and they don't in any way understand that this cannot be accomplished with any US tech company which provide cloud services.
This is what you get when you have people in power, esp. v.d.Leyen, who don't understand what's at stake.
The problem is probably that the OSS folks don't have hordes of lobbyists and "consultants" yelling at every politician in Brussels, throwing money around and making them panic that they may miss the AI hype train.

There's nothing wrong in having a license that prohibit commercial use; it's a fair behavior; besides, a concept (absolute freedom) must never be above foss people and their generous efforts
Its source repo was archived 6/2024, and the app taken off PlayStore. Last release was 2/2022, but the server software most likely moved on – which might have broken compatibility. If that is the case, we'd need to remove the app from #IzzyOnDroid as well, to avoid disappointments for those installing it full of hope.

Yeah, I've updated my @Arch Linux to @GNOME 49. There are some nifty #a11y related tweaks such as better labelling for gnome shell menus, refreshed settings UI, I like how presentation of various lists e.g. List of wireless networks is presented with screen reader including signal strength.
