With @signalapp having a problem because AWS us-east-1 is having trouble, I'm looking at installing @delta as a side-channel for situations like this ... does anyone know if it does video?

I know it's a chat function, and I'm not asking for miracles. It's a genuine question about capabilities.

I see there are web apps, and capabilities to integrate things, so I'm wondering what's available in the base install.

My investigations begin ...

#Signal #DeltaChat

#Signalapp appears to have some issues. The desktop app appears "offline" and messages are not going through,

EDIT: This likely is an outage resulting from AWS US-EAST-1 having some issues: health.aws.amazon.com/health/s… Many services are impacted. See downdetector.com/

@koehntopp All the stuff I scrolled through on the watches about page states "may".

I assume they have complied a list of all the external libs they use in all of their products and then rather than produce a product specific list they just list them all for all products, prefaced with "may".

It is incredibly lazy. Surely they could automate it to have a correct list for each product.

Idk if @Tutanota has always been talking about legal issues on their socials, especially those that include a call to action for citizens, but I think it's a super smart thing for them to do from a marketing standpoint. The value of following their accounts is higher now because I know they will inform me rather than just tell me about a feature. Not that there's anything wrong with talking features, but they're expanding the value they provide through their socials specifically.
@Tuta

hey @FreakyFwoof I have a question for you regarding omni describer. I know you have said you have done a video in chunks before. have you ever had it forget names after the first chunk? I have a video I am trying to get described of May's guide playing with his new toy, that I am trying to have described. after the first chunk, it forgets our boy's names, and the dogs name, but if I do the video without spliting it into five minute chunks, I get an arror, and the suggestion is to put it into chunks.

Happy Deepavali! Happy Diwali!! May light continue to defeat the darkness.

Anyway, won't be Malaysia without festival songs, so: youtube.com/watch?v=_Z6jdoxD12…

#ProTip for VoiceOver Users wanting to navigate the Emoji keyboard by touch with Apple Intelligence enabled: Find the “Back Image” button on the very very very left near the bottom, just above the keyboard switching button, and double tap it. Apple Intelligence insists on dumping you in the Genmoji screen when you go to use emojis for the first time after enabling it, and these steps are how you get the original emoji keyboard back. This is a perfect example of how nebulous #screenReader #accessibility is, and why it confuses so many laymen. I am looking at a web page right now that has a "Download" button. The button is an a (anchor) tag, with a div inside of it with the CSS class for a download button.
Obviously this is awful HTML, but it works fine, if you can see. There's a big fat button with "DOWNLOAD!" in all caps on the screen. Clicking this button starts the download. Seems good, no?
Well, no. This div has no actual textual content, and the anchor tag has no href or text either. So this huge honking button is entirely invisible to screen readers. How do I even begin to explain this to, say, a customer support rep? :)

Borris reshared this.

So yeah my wife posted a birthday video for me on her TikTok account and elsewhere, and it was flagged for:

"containing themes of nudity and sex"

It contains my upper chest hair (tank top) and a single kiss.

I don't know or care if AI and the AI slumlords are behind this Puritanization of society again but I'm about to be posting full on, full body nudes on the commercial social media networks at this rate.

Not the first time this has happened.

This might be one to report to @Mastodon or perhaps better yet, create an issue on github.com/mastodon

I normally use J / K (Turn NVDA's single letter navigation off first with NVDA+shift+spacebar). There's also a handy list of keystrokes for Mastodon at fedi.tips/using-mastodon-throu… (thanks @FediTips

My intention was for it to detect that I'm simply inside an application window, even the detection of what element the focus was on didn't matter; we're talking about image captioning after all, not full on image description. Of course it is not expected for the model to be perfect - what model is perfect today even! 😊
That being said, there are surely cases that can hinder the model to understand the displayed visuals - various display settings such as screen lighting and even display resolution should affect the output results profoundly. I'll surely tweak what I can to test the models performance. I'll let you know if I found something useful, so it hopefully can be included in the corresponding documentation.
Thank you for the hard work! 🙏

#EmployeeOwnership

"Employee ownership that re-centres capital with the workers… where automation is embraced not as a threat to the future of the company but as a way to improve its performance because the workers who are the owners have confidence that they will not be the victims but the beneficiaries." — Jason Kenney

Note that VirusTotal has 7 our of 66 engines screaming that this app contains an FRP. Well, not wrong – but that's what the app is about, right? We still asked the dev at github.com/donmor/DroidFRPD/is… – and assume no evil. Be still careful, as always!

Ona u vpsFree je jenom jedna VPS. A za násobky členských poplatků člověk dostává násobky systémových zdrojů. Já jsem u nich 10 let. Tenkrát to mělo naprosto bezkonkurenční parametry.

The search engine in Mastodon is always a source of wonder.
