It's been a while I've proudly moved to #FairEmail but I'm thinking to possibly give another chance to @k9mail or Thunderbird. But I'll wait for it on @fdroidorg. 🤷🏻♂️

mich würde hier ja mal ein ausführlicher Test/Vergleich vom @kuketzblog zu Fair Email interessieren. Früher war K-9 die Empfehlung. Davon bin ich weggegangen, wurde doch aber von #mozilla übernommen bzw. eine Kooperation gegründet, oder?
@d4m13n @kuketzblog Exakt, das hier ist auch genau die gleiche Code Base und K9 wird, kurz über lang, Thunderbird for Android werden. Der K9 Entwickler ist auch genauso weiter beteiligt, und im Repo von Thunderbird steht "formerly known as K9".
@ljrk @d4m13n @kuketzblog that's awesome and showing a good way in open source software, that things can also grow together and become one(, while at ever time it could branch out). Open source is kind of a living thing that always move forward and where pay things hardly can vanish.
Looks great and seems to work great and fast, both for a gmail and a custom domain hosted with #purelymail . The setup of the custom domain seemed more confusing than with Thunderbird on desktop or apps like #fairemail .

K9-Mail was the app which shown me that 800x480px screen can be used better than Maemo does it. So after playing with NITDroid on Nokia N900 l went and bought Nexus S.
Over decade passed. K9-Mail was always on my phone. Still it.
Tb beta migrated settings fine. Folder names in side menu look worse. Probably something to get used to.
Got it and 2 major accounts are set up; secondaries will do later. One was not in the database but not difficult to config. Anxious for this and eager to see how it develops, but my heart is with K-9. Congrats!

Also, we're using all the feedback to help us create FAQs and Getting Started guides on Mozilla Support, and I've added a note we should include Push and Poll settings in said guides.
Thanks! I was expecting "push" or "automatic" to be an option in the Polling pop-up menu, but "15 minutes" was the fastest option. The accounts I tried do support push in other email clients, but sometimes it's an option that I have to turn on somewhere when setting up the account.
Can't wait to use it! I tried importing my settings. K-9 Mail is an option, and I select it. But I get this error: "Failed to read settings file." Is there some way I can help troubleshoot this?
Also, I tried browsing the import screen with Android's screen reader, TalkBack. It mostly worked, except I did not hear a label for the back arrow button at the top. It was just announced as "button" so I didn't know its purpose. Is that something that could be fixed?

testing it now and it seems to be working fine. import from k9 went smooth. I was wondering if we can expect some addons (i.e. quicktext) to be working on mobile too...
as a k9 user I did not notice major changes yet, but that's not a bad thing, on a beta.
just tried to migrate from k9, import from app did not work (file worked). There already is an older ticket on GitHub, but is it not assigned. Next thing which is a huge show stopper for me is the missing support for nested and collapsible/expandable IMAP folders. The "folder.subfolder.subsubfolder.foo" workaround is a real deal-breaker, especially when you have 100 folders (incl subfolders). There also already is an existing unassigned ticket for this.

@schtobia Because of Play Store policy, we can't change K-9 Mail to Thunderbird in the App Store, which is why we've been asking people to test the K-9 Mail beta to Thunderbird Beta transfer, to help ensure the K-9 Mail to Thunderbird transfer is smooth when both have their regular release later this month.

I installed Thunderbird Android Beta from Github. The settings import from the App K9 fails but the export in K9 and the import in Thunderbird Android worked without problems.
In K9 the Accounts show a picture. Thats the only thing I miss in Thunderbird Android.
Breaking laws is not a good start is it? As mentioned in other comments, it is not allowed to collect (even anonymous) data without consent at least in Germany.
The argument "Otherwise de do not get enough data" is no argument. First, K9 worked without as well and second, it is ridiculous to break a law with such an explanation.
I recommend everyone to checkout FairEmail as real alternative.

Udemy will train generative AI on classes developed/users contributed on its site. It is opt-out (meaning, everyone was already opted in) with a time window... and opting out may "affect course visibility and potential earnings."
Udemy's reason for the opt-out window was reportedly because removing data from LLMs is hard. IMO, that would be the reason for making it opt-in, but here we are...

We are working on it already & we want to implement it in a way that works nicely together with key rotation. We enabled post-quantum encryption for new customers by the beginning of the year, now we are in the process of upgrading existing customers & then we will deploy key verification. How many emails did you send within a brief period of time? Normally, these will occur when trying to send a single email to a large number of recipients in the CC/BCC fields. If you are needing to send newsletter style emails please use a service like MailChimp.

On Thursday, I was honoured and proud to attend her graduation from a social entrepreneur course called GRIST from Mill House Ventures. Earthly Remains is her human composting initiative and, as well as working with partners to develop the technology, she is lobbying the ACT government to create legislation to allow it, as 13 US states have done.
The GRIST program supported the creation of a short video which explains it better than I can.
