Only drawback so far, but maybe I miss something. On the sidebar I could filter my podcasts by tags which I use a lot to organize my podcasts. With the bottom navigation tags seems to be completely useless, at least I couldn't find a way to access them. It would be great if tags could be added to the bottom navigation to have easy access to some kind of filtered view of my podcast subscriptions.
@bjoern Thanks for the feedback! We have an open enhancement request to display the tags at the top of the subscriptions screen, so they can easily be accessed. We hope that once that's implemented you'll have a good enough replacement for the tags in the side menu. (No concrete timeline at this point, though.)
By "be accessed" do you mean show a list of podcasts with that tag, or a list of episodes from podcasts with the tag? What I am missing with this workflow is being able to list episodes from all podcasts with a specific tag. Will this cover this use case? Or is something similar planned for the Episodes tab?

@Friesenkiwi Thanks for the feedback! Why wouldn't you want to miss the drawer? Is there anything that you're missing, or did you notice a clear downside? The idea is to – in the long term – drop the side menu. We believe the bottom menu offers a more modern experience and keeping both would mean increased maintenance work.
@Schaarsen Thanks for the feedback! It's expected that the side menu doesn't open, given that the bottom menu is always visible if enabled. But we should probably disable that setting if the bottom menu is active. We'll look into it!
I see how the bottom navigation is great for many podcast listening flows, but I only use the queue and sometimes manage my podcasts. I would love an option to reduce the navigation to a floating button or top bar button, that opens one specific other page (subscriptions).

Like so many other software projects the curl project has copyright mentions at the top of almost every file in the source code repository. Like Copyright (C) 1998 - 2022, Daniel Stenberg ...
A lot of people in software misunderstood the copyright years. There’s no need to update all your header files—just have your editor stick in the year when you create a file, and then never touch it again.
I think your approach works as well, but I never understood where the concept of “new year, new commit to update all the copyright statements” came from.
@teotwaki what year would you use if your new file gets content copied from some other files, which is quite common? Not even new files are unproblematic.
I stopped adding copyright headers to my source files a very long time ago, so I have to admit I didn’t think about that.
Back in the day when I did do it, I was lazy and just left the year generated by the editor, even when transplanting code. I fully agree with you that’s it’s a pointless exercise and that life is better without the copyright years.
Unless we think civilization destroys itself by that time, I think it's our responsibility to our descendants to make sure than when our software becomes pubic domain, they will know it, it will be clear to them.
@wolf480pl @mirabilos if someone wants to use my code (without adhering to the license) 70 years after I die, I don't think years or not in individual source files is going to stop them.
@mirabilos I've heard of some really messy situations where someone died without writing down their will and everything they owned or had rights to was stuck in a limbo and it was a pain to get the court to allow doing anything with it.
I don't know if that'd apply to copyright. Hopefully showing a git log would be enough to convince the court.

to netvrdím a nechci. Ale pokud budu volit s největším odporem nejmenší zlo, to je úplně celý špatně. Uvidím, jestli s něčím (a s čím) přijde Kalúsek, zda bude mít smysl se tím vůbec zabývat. Zase na druhou stranu kolik myslíš, že má třeba šikovný topenář v Německu a v ČR? Syn jen elektrikář po vyučení. V práci je tři měsíce a má 30000 měsíčně čistého. V Německu by dostal 1500-1800 euro. Zase už to tak velké rozdíly nejsou. Treba v Mnichově jsou větší platy, ale platíš tam hodně peněz za bydlení. Já ODS stejně volit nebudu, ale pořád lepší než Bureš a aby ministryni financí, dělala ludra co se převléká za hranolku. @OttovonWenkoff
@martin2560 tak vychází to cca1,5 násobek, a to je IMHO pořád sakra rozdíl. Jinak o populistech a fašistech nemluvím, z toho bys mě snad nepodezříval. 😊 Ale z 5k mi přijdou volitelni už jen ⛺, ale se skřípěním zubů...

It is with the Lime Aloud suite that I created my first printable scores for choir, bells and other instruments. On December 15, Yeamans Park Presbyterian Church in Hanahan, SC where I currently serve in the music department, presented five of the ten songs from my "Living That Story" Advent/Christmas musical as part of our "Big Music Sunday." It was an honor to collaborate with the choir, children, bell choir, guest oboist and guest cellist to put this presentation together. My best friend, Audrey, wrote the accompanying script and served as the narrator. She, her guide dog Bernie, the children, oboist, cellist and I all gathered with the choir in the chancel area, and it was truly a joy-filled event!

I started a new job not long after Y2K. A friend of mine was already working there. New Years Eve, 1999 the whole IT team was required to work, "just in case". They were all gathered right outside the server room watching the ball drop. Midnight approached, and they started their countdown. 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... and at the stroke of midnight, my friend turned off the overhead lights. There were people that were still angry with him for it when I joined the team months later.
This is a repository of apps to be used with your F-Droid client. Applications in this repository are official binaries built by the original application developers, taken from their resp. repositories (mostly Github, GitLab, Codeberg).
Oops… make that 10 updated, had to roll back Dhaaga as somehow a load of proprietary and tracking libraries (including the "usual suspects") had been dragged in with that. Upstream is informed and will hopefully have this fixed – next year 😉

As 2024 comes to an end, it’s time to reflect on what we’ve built together during the first full year of life for BSD Cafe. Launched on 20 July 2023, this project has grown far beyond what I could have imagined. While I haven’t tracked full uptime data, I can confidently say that the downtime was less than 30 minutes overall - even though the main VM hosting our services moved multiple times (including a switch from a Proxmox hypervisor to bhyve on FreeBSD, for the sake of alignment with our mission). In a world filled with over-engineered HA systems, we’ve outperformed many “big-name” cloud providers. Not bad for a community project, right?
For me, this has been an incredible journey. The users here are not just participants - they’re collaborators, and their positivity has been inspiring. The content shared and created at BSD Cafe has been valuable not only to the BSD community but beyond. What truly sets BSD Cafe apart is the openness for dialogue and exchange. Whether it’s social media posts, Matrix discussions, repositories in our brew, or RSS feeds, people seem to genuinely appreciate what we create and the conversations we foster.
BSD Cafe is a journey - one that grows, evolves, and continues. Our goal isn’t endless growth (we’re a community, not a business) but rather to maintain a welcoming, inclusive space where everyone feels a sense of positivity and belonging. For me, opening any service with “bsd.cafe” in the domain brings joy and pride. That’s the spirit I’ve tried to convey, and I hope it resonates with all of you, whether you’re active BSD Cafe users or friends of the community.
Promoting self-hosting and #OwnYourData has, as a side effect, inspired some users to “go solo” with their own setups. But even then, they remain part of BSD Cafe - in spirit, in purpose, and in connection.
