@anymouse_404 @ozzelot podle mě to může být klasické IT, jako třeba v nemocnicích: zemnící kontakty jsou spojené se zemí, v tomto případě s kostrou vozidla. Zdroj kontroluje izolační stav mezi pracovními vodiči a zemí a při poklesu impedance vyhlásí poruchu, ale funguje dál, až do druhé závady.
Ovšem teď jak to píšu, tak mi to připadá trošku překombinované na něco, co není operační sál, ale jen zásuvka ve vlaku 😉

@Friendica Support @Tuxi ⁂ So oft ich auch die Namen meiner Feeds personalisiere (meinrss@anonsys.net) personalisiere, sie werden immer wieder ohne mein Zutun vom System geändert. In diesem Bespielfall ist der personaliserte Name Neues Deutschland, wird aber immer wieder in nd geändert. In anderen Feeds läuft es ähnlich ab. Gibt es dafür eine Erklärung?
@Tuxi ⁂ Zudem stelle ich gerade fest, dass viele Feeds trotz Löschung mehrfach angezeigt werden. Das passiert immer wieder mal, aber nicht in der Häufigkeit wie heute.

@Gerhard Hallstein Da habe ich auch einen in meinem Feed-Reader (nicht Friendica). Das ist ab und an, wenn im ursprünglichen Beitrag irgendeine Änderung vorgenommen wurde. Dann wird der Beitrag quasi als neu erkannt und gepollt von der Quelle. Hat nichts mit Friendica zu tun.
@Tuxi ⁂ @Rainer "friendica" Sokoll Dieser Feedreader muss selbst aufgesetzt und gepflegt werden. Da bin ich dann schon draußen. Macht aber nichts - Firefox bietet die Erweiterung Feedbro an, die ich jahrelang genutzt habe und zufrieden war.
Ja, es ist ein anderes Konzept: FreshRRS ist /auch/ ein Reader, zuerst aber ein Aggregator, der die Feeds sammelt und dann den Clients zur Verfügung stellt. Ich verwende vier Reader (3 Computer, ein Telefon) gleichzeitig, und alle bedienen sich bei meinem FreshRSS. Es ist wie ein Mailserver, der ganz unterschiedliche Clients mit denselben Mails versorgt, und alle Clients sehen, was schon gelesen wurde, in einen Ordner verschoben etc. Solange Du nur einen einzigen RSS-Reader verwendest, bringt das natürlich nichts.

The post says that compile time and executable size are often not as visible as runtime speed. On the contrary, in AccessKit, where we don't yet have many real-world use cases involving large accessibility trees, it's *easier* to measure compile time and especially executable size, and I admit to obsessing over the latter.
Now I wonder where HTTP2, and eventually HTTP3, falls in the tradeoff between minimizing bloat and keeping essential features. For example, for a program that only needs to make a few HTTP requests, or just one, would it be OK to disable HTTP2 support? Disabling HTTP2 in the reqwest crate saves about 200 KB of x64 machine code in a size-optimized release build.
But by doing this, would I be preventing an eventual phase-out of HTTP 1.1 that some might want to do?
But will it satisfy the world? I have blogged several times in the past about how OpenSSL decided to not ship the API for QUIC a long time ago, even though the entire HTTP world was hoping for it - or even expecting it.
quite interesting details about quic support. It affects also DNS over QUIC, not only HTTPS/3. At least unbound and bind9 are compiled with OpenSSL on Fedora. Unbound has added recently server support via #ngtcp2. But it gets weird and inappropriate, linking two different crypto stacks into single binary. The reason is similar to curl. Normal TLS from OpenSSL, quic via gnutls. If it should be enabled, then this way...

We're in an age where important video and audio online may be deleted without warning and without any ability to find it elsewhere. There's a very useful tool which lets you store an offline copy of video and audio called YT-DLP:
I don't normally like command line tools, but this is pretty easy to use. After you've installed it, you just type yt-dlp and then the URL of the video or audio, then it saves it as a DRM-free file on your computer.
It works with a variety of different video and audio platforms.
(This replaces an earlier tool called yt-dl which is no longer maintained.)
This is something I recommend people do with my videos too, even if I do maintain them locally. Some creators don't want 'anyone to have *my* content, boooo!' I subscribe to a vastly different mindset. If I've put time and effort into making it, I want people to benefit from it if youtube dies, so I actively encourage people to download my stuff. Perhaps I'm just strange like that.

Ein Blick im Adminpanel bzw. in die Warteschlange sagt mir, dass aktuell wieder viele "UpdateContact" Jobs am laufen sind. I've had up to 10k jobs in queue with "update contact", with a tremendous load on the system. I ended up disableling completely the "auto discovered contact directory" thing in the admin panel. This thing seems to go in endless loop or something like unregulated jobs spawning.
