So yeah, I went ahead with this, and ported the Go version of Snowflake to WASM. Now it can run in browsers.

Thanks to @Davidsm for the initial prototype!

There is no easy-to-install version for normal users yet though. If you want to try it out, you’ll need to build it from source (all you need is install Go). See the proxy/README.Tor Project Forum

@matrix has gone from $0 to $561K in recurring revenue in just 2 years. But our expenses run $1.2M/yr.
We've burned through reserves and are at a crossroads.
It's the classic FOSS funding problem: use and adoption are at an all-time high, wealthy companies and countries use it, and secure decentralized comms have never been more important. And yet we can't pay our bills.

The vexing thing about Mozilla is that they accomplished a thing that is very big and important -- something that you can say with a straight face actually changed the course of history.
And yet, from the very beginning, they have always seemed faintly embarrassed about that thing

#BuyCanadian Campbell's is putting Designed in Canada on some of their products (they're not the only ones).
It doesn't mean much. Just that they had some part of the design process made in Canada 🙄
I prefer Made in Canada (51% of the total costs are Canadian) or, of course, Product of Canada (98%)

NDP warns privatizing high-speed rail from Toronto to Quebec could kill passenger trains in rest of Canada
cbc.ca/news/canada/british-col…
The whole project already sounds like subsidizing private profit.
If this is built with public money (and there is no work around that) it should be operated for the public. This is why VIA Rail exist.
those who forgot. VIA Rail was created to take over the passenger service from both CP and CN as they were divesting from it.
There problem is that it all stopped there and here we are. The inherited rolling stock, routes, station and got crumbs for the traffic priority. All as a result of Government policy (or lack thereof).
Also CN was the Government consolidating all the bankrupt railroad into a national railroad. And then it got sold off to the private sector in 1995. Like what? Public money to make Bill Gates[1] richer?
[1] he is the largest single shareholder of CN

Canada is getting high-speed rail
The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today announced that Canada is developing a high-speed rail network in the Toronto-Quebec City corridor.Prime Minister of Canada
...Air Canada, CPDQ Infra (Quebec pension fund, which built Montreal's REM), and SNCF (France's rail operator).
In other words, a public-private partnership.
Which raises the question: what happens to VIA Rail, tasked with operating passenger rail across Canada?
