With a small amount of prep, we can help users to help themselves, rather than needing maintainer attention, for support requests that we could do without.

In short, I'm excited. Check it out for more details.

Sometimes the internet is really funny - or scary.
The Chrome browser is one example.
While you believe you are browsing the web, Google is browsing you instead.

(Git) on the mirrors and on install media, so it doesn't apply.
I think it's a real stretch to say OpenSSL 'accompanies' the executable here and I can't help but wonder if Brian is stirring the pot deliberately. When I install things via apt, at the very least, I'm fetching individual distributions of program binaries. Stop shipping `git` in any default install images (are there any?) and this shouldn't even be a consideration.

“Slopsquatting” in a nutshell:
1. LLM-generated code tries to run code from online software packages. Which is normal but
2. The packages don’t exist. Which would normally cause an error but
3. Nefarious people have made malware under the package names that LLMs make up most often. So
4. Now the LLM code points to malware.

And that's before you consider its effects on the ozone layer, or its contribution to acid rain, smog, and nutrient pollution in local soil and waterways. The most important experimental distro you've never heard of gets new project lead
: Plus a fresh version ... nine years after its lastLiam Proven (The Register)
Three men died in a car accident and found themselves at the Pearly Gates, where Jesus welcomed them personally.
He said, “To enter Heaven, I’ll ask each of you one question. Tell the truth, and you’re in. But if you lie… well, you know where you’re headed.”
He turned to the first man.
“How many times did you cheat on your wife?”
The man stood up proudly and said,
“Lord, never. I was completely faithful my whole life.”
Jesus smiled. “Well done, my son. For your loyalty, you’ll get a mansion and a limousine to enjoy eternity.”
Then He turned to the second man.
“And you?”
The man looked sheepish. “Uh… twice, Lord. I messed up.”
Jesus nodded. “At least you were honest. You’ll get a nice four-bedroom house and a BMW.”
Finally, He looked at the third man.
“And you?”
The third man sighed and confessed,
“Eight times, Lord… maybe more. I lost count.”
Jesus raised an eyebrow but said, “You’re forgiven. But your heavenly home will be a studio apartment, and your ride? A Yugo.”
A few hours later, the second and third men saw the first man—the one with the mansion and limo—sitting on a cloud, crying.
“What’s wrong?” they asked. “You got the best deal!”
He wiped his tears and said,
“I just saw my wife go by… on a skateboard.”
