Watching Microsoft’s robots telling Microsoft’s other robots that they need to agree to Microsoft CLAs in between Microsoft’s developers begging Microsoft’s robots to actually understand the problems they’re trying to fix in Microsoft's platform code on Microsoft's version-control website is kind of amazing.

This is definitely the future Terry Gilliam promised us.

FFS: What an absolute bellend: "Duolingo CEO says AI is a better teacher than humans—but schools will still exist ‘because you still need childcare’"

Were I still using that POS Duolingo, this would have made me stop.

So y’all, let’s talk about how a 166 year old remnant of human suffering was finally razed to the ground by an electrical fire. I speak of course, of the largest antebellum plantation in the country. A plantation that never mentioned slavery in its marketing to bridezillas with the lack of soul it would take to dance on the graves of the slaves that built the building. Seriously, having your event at #Nottoway White Castle is literally holding a ceremony under trees where men, women and children were lynched.

So, I leave you with my favorite picture of Nottoway, and pray that the fire and destruction released any spirit who was trapped by the weight of history. Be at peace and finally at rest.

That is really great news!
...now I "only" need to convince my employer to stop actively blocking all clients except Outlook and Evolution.
...chances are slim. Really slim :(

What my IT department claims: Blocking everything is the default, they have no approval process to change it, and they require a data processing agreement with every "platform" that accesses the account.

The notion of local e-mail clients seems to have quietly dropped off the table.

...people, use alternative clients whenever you can, as long as you can, before the Powers That Be decide to forget that they exist!

We've been talking a lot about roadmaps for the last four State of the Thunders, and this volume is all about priorities. How do we set them and decide on timing for certain items? How do we make mid-development adjustments? And how do we make sure our priorities are in line with what our users need?

We're also updating you on Thunderbird Sync (Yes, Sync!), Thundermail and the Pro suite, as well as our mobile development. Watch on TILvids:

2. copy the link and push clipboard from the remote side to the local side.
3. Use the link to download file on the local side.

I hope NVDA 2025.1's built-in remote feature has file transfer.

FBI Warning on Messaging Apps: Time to Rethink What "Secure" Really Means

The FBI recently urged Americans to switch from SMS to encrypted messaging apps like WhatsApp and Signal.

Cyber attack on M&S likely to cost them about £300m.

Somewhere some manager refused security measures or a pentest citing the costs.

Elsewhere there's an engineer muttering "I fucking told you so" quietly while rocking back and forth.

Cyber security is one of those line items that looks purely as a cost, and not a cheap one at that.

But the risk of getting it wrong is very very high.

My meeting with electronic music was mid of the 70s when Jean Michel Jarre released his first Album "Oxygène" (1976). It was really kind of alien space music at this time. :0)

"The 1974 Eurovision Song Contest was the nineteenth edition of the competition. It took place on Saturday, April 6, 1974, in Brighton, United Kingdom. It was won by Sweden, with the song "Waterloo," performed by ABBA".

ABBA's harmonies must have had an influence on my desire to become a musician. The vocal harmonies were magnificent.

At fairs, the huge bass speakers pierced you on this song, and many others with powerful bass lines.
