I am back online! 🎉
On friday at cca 12:00 we had a partial electricity outage in half of the city of #Prague and several other areas in #Czechia
The electricity came back on friday at 16:00.
But internet? #Vodafone was fixing it in my area until now, Sunday 16:30.
For a #selfhoster like me is internet outage quite annoying, but now I am back online.

If you ever want to go cycling in #Prague, I highly recommend the "Na kole Prahou" (Prague on Bike) app. It's very similar to my favorite #Cyclers, because they're both made by the same vendor. However, it has notes from the local cycling community and extra features that are useful in Prague. And just like Cyclers it's #OSM based.

While #cycling around Prague, I discovered that it's often the fastest means of transportation. For example, I was able to get from Anděl to Florenc (4 km) in 12 minutes with little effort. For me, it's also the cheapest since both #Rekola and #Nextbike give you 2 one-hour-long rides every day if you have the #Multisport card.

My side quest at #FlockToFedora was meeting Petr Šimáček, a longtime #Fedora user and author of @mestskacyklistika. He gave me a tour of Radio Beat, where he works as a news guy, and took me on a one-hour #bike ride to show me all the gems of city #cycling in #Prague.

Our trip from #Brno to #Prague and back (420 km) cost 300 CZK (€12) with #EV. A family (2+2) train ticket would cost 2000 CZK (€80). Sadly a no-brainer from a family budget perspective.

IMO individual transport with all its negative externalities shouldn't be so cheap compared to public transport.

It starts as a #document about Ukrainian #cheerleading team, where the youngest member is 50 and oldest 70 years old.
But then the war comes and suddenly we follow destiny of good friends in a #war times.

Everytime there is a new #bike lane in #Prague I read somebody to demand physical lane separators to feel more safe.
Well in #Glasgow they have these separators, but it looks like bike lines are not properly cleaned because of them...
And the added safety seems to me imaginary.
I think ordinary line is just cheaper to make, easily maintainable and over all good enough for me.

I just watched the second season of the #Foundation #series.
I very quickly realized it was shot in #Czechia. Everyone living in #Prague have to recoginze the New stage of National theatre and the old building of National theatre in the background.

Prague's New stage of National theatre used as a random building in the background of a Foundation scifi series taking place on remote planet. It was built in brutalist style. It has a shape of huge box with beveled edges covered with huge glass blocks.

I was invited to a birthday party on the #tram T3 Coupé. It is a perfect experience. The design of the tram is just superb; The tram offers very nice views of #Prague; The people I was celebrating with were fantastic; The open back is like driving in a cabriolet; The tram was turning a lot of heads.

It's been a while since I've taken a photo! This is the Zizkov Tower in Prague, Czech Republic. It's said to be the second ugliest building in the world (second only to the Morris A. Mechanic Theatre in Baltimore). However, living in the area around it, you can't help but love it. It's a symbol that watches over you when you come home from a pub, and sits on the horizon when you're out with your family. Plus, it'll look amazing in 700 years! #photography #prague

This makes me angry everytime I walk here. During railway reconstruction they took the old bridge down and built this new wider one. But they recreated the pavement under it in the old footprint. Why? It so narrow that two people can't pass each other. 😭 #prague #nonsence
