ODF wholesome encryption is the default password (symmetric) encryption mode in LibreOffice 24.8.

Supports AES-256-GCM and Argon2id.

LibreOffice 24.2/24.8 is required to open the encrypted files.

Disable: Tools > Options > Load/Save > General > ODF Format Version > 1.3 (drop down menu) > Apply > OK

Needed to merge some documents and export to multiple Word files. Used Word and Excel first - cannot believe Word cannot do this without code or dodgy plugins.

Decided to try in the wonderful #Libreoffice and not only is the feature built in, the merge worked perfectly. Should have tried Libreoffice first . . .

TIL conditional formatting in #LibreOffice calc goes wrong when your compare values are on another sheet and you save as xls file: the sheet reference gets dropped

Maybe it's a xls limitation, and mybe I should check the resulting xls before mailing it 🙄

Found a bug in #LibreOffice Calc @libreoffice:

Column contains single-digit values and #N/A. Tried to use AutoFilter to hide any #N/A but show everything else. The #N/A still appears.

Thanks to the @libreoffice Team. I was on #froscon19 last weekend and the representatives there pointed me to the right direction solving my problem concerning keyboard shortcuts! 👍

For everyone else: you can assign a keyboard shortcut for styles, but it you have to go to the specific section down the list. I wasn't aware of that, I just notices the shortcuts stopped working.

I won a contest @libreoffice held, and I got all this KILLER LibreOffice swag from them.

I've used LibreOffice for so many years, from back in the mid 2000s when it was OpenOffice. It's better than Microsoft Office. It's totally free and open source, and you don't have to be logged in like you do now with Office.

Try it out if you haven't, you won't regret it.
