Even with all the eclipse photos circulating right now, this one made my eyes pop. Great shot of jet contrails breaking up the edge of the eclipsed Sun. Quick calculation: The Sun is about 30,000,000 times wider than the jet.

Having a 40 megapixel sensor on my new camera (Fujifilm X-T5) is sometimes absurd.

For example, here's a picture of a little European ground squirrel that I zoomed into with the Fuji 70 - 300 lens + 1.4x teleconvertor.

And a crop @ 200%, showing the reflection in the ground squirrel's eye of a few of us people standing on a little deck around a good 3 meter (9 feet) away.

A Misty Morning at the River Brathay

I was out early on Wednesday morning. The forecast wasn't ideal, just v.cold (actually -10C).

I hung around waiting for the sunrise to hit the two oaks in the photo. As the sun reached the valley it kicked off the mist around the water.

I struggled to pick a favourite so these and more hi-res photos from the morning on my website, see my profile for a link.
