wow, exciting new #Accessibility features from #Apple coming hopefully in iOs 17.
1. Assistive access. Reduces the feature set and design of apps to minimum, to lessen cognitive load.
2. Live speech. Type text and phone reads it out loud or through an ongoing call.
3. Personal voice. iOs clones your voice to output with 15 minutes of data to train.
4. Point and speak. In magnifier, the phone reads out a text on a button, such as home appliance, a person is pointing at with their finger.
and more, such as siri voices being better at faster speech rates, MFI hearing aids get macOs support, its easier to customise text size in MacOs and you can use your switch control as a game controller.

Today, the US #NLRB issued a finding of merit in two of my charges against #Apple. The NLRB agreed with my claim that Apple's NDAs & employee policies are unlawfully restrictive & chilling to the point of violating federal labor law

The best part of this is that these charges are about Apple's employee policies & statements made to workers nationally. Apple's remedy will also need to be national. All the hell the last two years is worth it for this. Let us be free. 🕊️ 💙

source code for the GEMDOS prototype for the Apple Lisa was found among the Digital Research source code that was released under the GPL by Caldera a while back

now that's how you publicly license historical source code

and people have gotten it to run!

with a full GEM desktop!

it even runs well behaving Atari ST apps!

Announcement: Macstodon 0.3 is here! 🥳​

Macstodon is a Mastodon client for 68k Macintosh computers! With it, you can post plain-text toots, view your home and local timelines, and view your notifications!

System Requirements:
- A 68020/68030/68040 Macintosh
- System 7.1 through 8.1
- At least 1.5 MB of free memory
- 32-bit addressing enabled
- Internet Config installed
- an SSL-stripping proxy running on another machine

You can download the latest release from GitHub: github.com/smallsco/macstodon
(but please read the Read Me, I worked hard on it!)

And with that, I'm going to take a break from this project for a few days! But do let me know if you've successfully used it!
