Personally I think these "State of Thunder" videos are a really good format for suff like sharing your development process and so on, but for things like roadmaps and updating the community on upcoming features and projects, I think many of us would rather read a structured blog post, where it's a little easier to find the information you're interested in the most. As it stands keeping up to date with you guys has become quite a hassle.

Thanks for your reply, I will definitely keep an eye on these blog posts. However, I can't seem to find any kind of updates on new products in development like Thundermail and thr Thunderbird Pro suite on the site. I have also been signed up for the Thundermail waitlist since it was announced, and no updates have been sent through that either. The "State of Thunder" videos seem to be the only place to get this information.

Can anyone recommend an office suite that could replace Google Workspace? My small company is all remote and we need to be able to have a unified mail solution, as well as a way to collaborate on web-based documents. We primarily use mail, calendar, drive, and docs/sheets. I've been looking but I haven't found anything that would allow us to easily transition away.
Finding a Google Drive replacement was toughest and I finally settled on Aukland based MEGA; it offers 20g free. 5-Eye country and Hong Kong owned, but I encrypt everything before loading to the cloud anyways. They also have a Linux app.
Very misleading to list LineageOS and e/os as alternatives to Android. They are highly insecure in many ways compared to a stock Android install. Even CalyxOS isn't really adding any benefit, but at least they still keep very basic security features like verified boot intact.
I have high hopes for #LibreTranslate and have played around with it a bit. Sadly, at least for Japanese to English, the results are not quite at a quality level where I would use it as my main translation engine.
Really looking forward to what that project might become a few years from now.
Any reason why nextcloud is not on that list? It's a great replacement for Google Drive and has great plugins for many of the categories in your list. Calendar, password manager, docs, notes, probably more.
Striving for privacy and leaving an ecosystem that locks our data is what is all about. Avoiding to be locked into another one (beeing an app or else) is critical. I hope Tuta bring the options (for people with threat models that allows it) for SMTP bridge and calendar sharing via standardised interfaces (caldav...) in the future. Or else Tuta will have solved only half of the problem (privacy) while maintaining an artificial lock-in in their app.

/e/OS, LineageOS, and CalyxOS all decrease security and therefore harm privacy relative to base AOSP. GrapheneOS is the only one of those that improves on both. The "privacy improvements" for CalyxOS are just preinstalled apps. GrapheneOS is not supported by devices other than Pixels.
The recommendation for many Firefox based browsers is also harmful to security and privacy. Firefox has much weaker site isolation and security than most Chromium forks.

You shouldn't be recommending LineageOS nor /e/OS. LineageOS isn't security or privacy focused while /e/OS is slow to provide security updates for system components and has unreliable and un-audited online services. GrapheneOS is the only good option here eylenburg.github.io/android_co…

The only thing about Tuta or Proton is the price. For the ones, as myself, who do not earn in dollars or euros, it is kind of expensive the paid version. But thanks for all the other options given (and the free version of your services).

@rzeta0 Sorry, missed that question. In Tuta all data is end-to-end encrypted and we can't see the data - so no matter what you discuss, it stays between you and the recipient.
From the question I can not judge whether what you are planning to do is illegal under German law or not (probably not, but I'm not a legal expert).
