VA.gov was recently recognized for its hard work improving user accessibility. Since veterans are more likely to have visible and invisible disabilities than other demographics, enhanced accessibility was an especially worthy goal.

@killyourfm Admittedly, 105 are YouTube creators (I follow them via RSS too since YouTube push notifications are so unreliable), and another 123 are artists I follow on a particular site. Rest is all over the place.
Wow - Thunderbird supports RSS?! I’ve been using Thunderbird for the plaintext email and PGP signing, but I just learned a few days ago that it also supports Matrix, and just now viewing RSS! I visit Mastodon frequently and don’t follow many users yet so I don’t think I’ll need this for Mastodon yet, but it will be useful in other platforms.
Pro-tip: You can easily add YouTube/PeerTube channels, organize feeds into subfolders, and even use uBlock Origin to blocks ads and creepy trackers: github.com/gorhill/uBlock/rele…
I think when following the rss-stream, the user will not notice that at all though - so if everybody does that we end up with all feeds and people thinking noone follows them..
This could also be useful in a case where there's a Mastodon account that you're occasionally interested in but don't really want to follow on a regular basis.
Much to learn about Mastodon. And this feature is awesome. Really wished several times to be able to subscribe to or even to see some channels on other platforms or even media without having to register.
Thunderbird's excellent support of RSS makes a weekly assignment for which I'm responsible -much- more sustainable than otherwise. Not quite at an existential level, but pretty close.

Věci se dějou. V důsledku mne zbavil práce, kde jsem nebyla spokojená, falešných kamarádů, známých, přátel, rodinných příslušníků, a díky tomu, že jsem se celá rozpadla na malý kousky, měla jsem výjimečnou příležitost se poskládat znovu, jaká jsem chtěla být. Zbavila jsem se strachů a naučila se, co je skutečně důležité. Kdyby se to nestalo, jsem stále rozmazleným frackem 🤷🏻♀️ takže ve finále jsem za to vděčná 😁

Bad actors will soon figure out - if they haven't already - that setting up impersonations of important organizations now will allow them to set off an explosion of chaos and confusion at a time of their choosing.
So if you run an account for an organization (especially #LGBTQ), please set up link verification between your Mastodon account profile and your organization's website.
I'd even say that self-hosting their account is for them the best checkmark. If Company owns company.com, then I'd trust company@company.com more than company@mastodon.social.
