Well this is kinda wild, here's another example of technology created to help people with disabilities benefiting everyone. Apparently in iOS 17.2 if you have Siri set to announce messages over airPods and someone sends you a picture, Siri will now describe the image (probably using the same on-device models blind people have been enjoying with VoiceOver for a few versions). Sure, it's no GPT 4levels of image descriptions, but IMO the descriptions Apple's models give are often better than what you can get from something like Meta on Facebook or Microsoft and their models are cloud based. @Justin Ekis @Alex Hall Oh btw ctrl+shift+f search window has not received major updates in @Thunderbird: Free Your Inbox 115 #supernova at least since #thunderbird 78 if I can remember correctly. So the search experience is verry similar since very long time ago. In the future it will be most likelly updated to the new message list component used in the main window.

it’s too late anyway. Math exists. They can ban and back door some encryption implementations all they want, but the genie is already out of the bottle. It has been since Egyptian times (substitution ciphers). Possibly earlier… who knows? I’m not a cryptography expert but I suspect I could write an extremely difficult-to-crack key-based encryption/decryption algorithm myself in an hour or less. I think we need to accept this reality and move on.
The final legislation will be negotiated between three institutions. 1. European Commission - their position remains unchanged; 2. The Council - their position has not been concluded but will probably not be very positive; 3. The European Parliament, whose position is likely to be more or less okay. One of three negotiating entities wishing to protect encryption does not mean that encryption will be protected. Great news, but this battle isn’t nearly over.

Jsem prcek a fyzičku vůbec nemám, chytrá váha na mě svítí červeně jak vánoční stromeček v před stripbarem, takže bylo na čase s tim něco dělat. Docela mě potěšilo, jak málo stačilo. První 4 kg padly díky koloběžce, další začaly padat po změně jídelníčku.

However, it would be nice if we started moving into the "fixing phase” as soon as possible. IMHO, we spend a lot of time on identifying issues, but a lot of the accessibility obstacles exist because the issues do not get fixed! So there!
I’m super uncomfortable when people want to remove humans from something that is so intrinsically linked to the wellbeing of humans.
And I agree, we spend so much time on identifying issues instead of preventing and fixing them.
But prevention is no business model, otherwise the big players would churn out accessibility schooled devs and designers by the dozen each week. That’s what we need.

I quite enjoy the speakers on the 15 Pro too. Within realistic expectations for their size and positioning, they sound much more pleasant than those on the 11.
