in reply to Federico Mena Quintero • • •You'd think so, and I sure did, but the wireless shifting systems have some pretty compelling arguments in their favor, including "you can shift gears under the heaviest loads you can put on it" and "you can _stand on the derailleur_ and it will take that abuse without misaligning or even flinching."

It's spendy, but ... man I've snapped chains and torn derailleurs _clean off_ bikes before and that looks... really good.
