This is too! funny! Shamelessly stolen from a Facebook post...

Me, behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrive home after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladdin was a thief, Batman drove
over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with 7 men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac Man ran around to digital music while eating
pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies that always had the munchies.
The fault is not mine!😂

Thanks to Aholic Gino reporting them, 5 apps that are no longer useful (as they stopped working) will be removed from the #IzzyOnDroid repo with the next sync – see gitlab.com/IzzyOnDroid/repo/-/… for details:

* SafetyNet Sample
* BakaReader
* NoFasel
* YoutubeAudioPlayer
* VueTube

We're really thankful for such reports as they not only help keeping the repo trim and clean – but also avoid frustration after installing broken #apps (if there are no broken apps) on your #Android device 🤩

in reply to IzzyOnDroid ✅

Speaking of old apps: anyone using TimberDoodle (apt.izzysoft.de/packages/de.tu…)? The app is 9 years old and seems no longer maintained. So if it's no longer working (or useful), it should be removed as well.

Same for MagicContext (apt.izzysoft.de/packages/com.l…) which requires a Deezer account, and PowerSwitch (apt.izzysoft.de/packages/eu.po…) which requires specific hardware I don't have.

Thanks in advance for your help! :boost_love:

#Google claims to be an advertising company, but in the Czech republic their ads are FRAUD. It is bizarre to me that one of the largest companies in the word doesn't conduct legitimate business and instead is happy to defraud people through blatant lies. Reporting these ads does nothing.

The screenshot is of a "free electricity" fraudulent ad on #youtube. Shame on you google.

Brain fart, can I modify hotkeys in TweeseCake? 4t Tray Minimizer has hijacked some of TC's hotkeys, and I'm a free user so I can't change them.

there's a keymaps folder in my portable app directory. Guessing that's in user config if you install.

I tend to feel like most moaning about Apple is overblown but the latest version of #macos making it excessively hard to run cronjobs might well be the thing that finally pushes me back onto desktop linux (or BSD?) after 12+ years.

The selling point was always that it's a Unix environment with a nice graphical setup but if they're going to make it excessively hard to use the Unix side of things in a normal way then what's the point?

I have noticed since I started using the beta of IOS 18 I always use BSI Braille Screen Input, It is awesome, I use it on screen away mode, how do you use it?
in reply to Sean Randall

@cachondo I have to be honest and say that I don't really understand the different modes.
in reply to Terry Clasper

@Terry also, dot reversal.
My wife has that on and can't braille without it. I really have to think before every tap when using her phone! My brain!
in reply to Terry Clasper

@Terry @frog67 @cachondo I used to use dot reversal in the EmBraille app about 10 years ago. When Braille screen input was first brought in throughout IOS, there was no dot reversal option so I got used to it the other way round, which took a couple of weeks or so. Now I would find reversing dots very difficult. The best way I could describe it is that with default settings you are using the same fingers as on a Perkins, and with dots reversed in "screen away" mode you are brailleing using the same dot pattern shape you would feel if reading Braille. It is a very individual preference, so it is great both options are available.
in reply to Sean Randall

@cachondo @Terry Funny how people are so different; I have to think extra hard if I don't have dot reversal on in screen away mode!

in reply to Javi Domínguez

Cannot get Face ID to work on this new phone, so, have disabled it. I finally got the thing to accept my face, but, when I try to use it, to unlock the phone, the phone just keeps saying, "try again ". Also, sometimes, those gestures, that replace the home button, don't work. #IOS #accessibility #a11y
in reply to Superdave!

I switched from my beloved iPhone SE to a 12 recently without wanting to. Bah. Hate the thing. Too big, has to be far enough from my face so it can see me but then I need to turn it up so I can hear it. I can do the gestures, but I miss my button, miss my touch ID.
Still miss the headphone jack, of course, so probably not really one to look forward to shiny new things here.

So bad. Like finishing work hours early on a phased return and still sleeping for the rest of the day bad.

Krásné páteční #dobréRáno přátelé #fediverse Asi budu muset rychle vyrazit na kole, zatím u nás neprší.

From Mary L. #Trump

Not only did Vice President #Kamala Harris expose my uncle’s #weakness on the #debate stage last night, which left him seething with rage and reduced to sputtering #incoherence, she also gave millions of us something we have needed for almost a decade — catharsis.

And Harris did it in a way that was not just masterful, it was almost surgical. She #dominated Donald from the outset, crossing the stage to his lectern and forcing him to do something he did not want to do—shake her hand. (I confess, I did not want her to shake his hand—not because I thought it was a tactical mistake, but because I didn’t want her to have to touch him.) And then, while addressing policy issues and giving us substantive answers to the moderator’s questions in a way that underscored how incapable Donald was of doing the same, she slid the knife in again and again. She told him to his face in front of the world that he is a #disgrace. She looked at him with bemused condescension, pity, and outright #contempt. She called out his lies and, worst of all for him, she #mocked his rallies:

“I'm going to invite you to attend one of Donald Trump's rallies because it's a really interesting thing to watch. You will see during the course of his rallies he talks about fictional characters like Hannibal Lecter. He will talk about windmills cause cancer. And what you will also notice is that people start leaving his rallies early out of exhaustion and boredom.”

Donald never recovered from that accurate and damning assessment of one of the most important metrics by which he measures his worth This bit of rhetorical evisceration, which happened at about the 25-minute mark, undid him and he spent the next hour defensive, desperate, and flailing.

We needed someone to call out Donald’s lies in a context he did not control. We needed someone to set the record straight while he had to stand there and listen. Harris did that while laying out his decades’-long patterns of #racist, #corrupt, and #disturbing behaviors that are utterly disqualifying.

For over nine years, this country has been in thrall to a cruel and deranged man who cares only about himself. His constant war on truth and basic human decency has worn us down, #demoralizing those of us who care about other people, who want a better world, and who crave a leader who exhibits empathy and understanding.

We’ve been waiting for somebody in a position of authority to stand up to Donald in a way that would matter, that would loosen Donald’s grip on power and perhaps even undo him. Instead, we’ve watched helplessly as the entire Republican Party bent its knee to him; as corrupt judges give him a pass; and as the #illegitimate super-majority of the Supreme Court ripped up the Constitution in order to give him, this man who has earned nothing and deserves nothing, more power.

I'm going to resist the temptation to mention the name of the person who emailed me but I received a private email from someone who was interested in purchasing an iPhone for Michael Feir and asked if he should just leave the fundraiser alone. Whatever that means. I wrote back, told him I only distribute the information and that I'm not involved with the project and gave him Jonathan Mosen's email address. He wrote back and said "Okay but I hoped that you would know the price of the phone."
I wrote back and said that the phones were only announced yesterday and I've been very busy and that it's not my job to keep up with the prices of these products and that if he wants to buy the phone it's his responsibility to go on Apple's Web site and research the prices.
I admit I've been pretty sick this week, which he would not have known, and that my wife is in the hospital, which he also would not have known, but why he can't just use a search engine instead of assuming I just happen to know the prices of these products is beyond my comprehension. I admit that being sick is making me crankier than usual. Please, let this be a lesson for those who send unsolicited private emails to individuals and who assume they're just available to answer your tech questions. We're human beings and we may have a lot going on that you don't know about and, if I may say so, it's a bit rude.

wait, now i'm going to have to try this app out again on windows... from the 11 SEP Jaws Update: "Resolved a keyboard conflict when using the Text Expander application."
in reply to Michael Babcock

I must admit I'm very curious about this as I had always assumed Text Expander was a Mac-only application. Wondering if it has advantages over Leasey's text feature?
in reply to David Goldfield

@DavidGoldfield I need to explore Leasey's text feature... One advantage it may have is that if you want you could access text expander from phone, Mac, etc. Sadly though, every time i've tried TextExpander on windows, it's been a bad experience.

In opsec, duress (“rubber-hose”) attacks are famously hard to address. Cryptographic keys that cannot be lost have poor protections against duress.

Travelers can leave key fobs at home should they be accosted. A victim of a break-in can conveniently “lose” or smash a hardware key, erasing any encrypted data. Yes, I know about cold-boot attacks; I don’t recommend at-risk people to leave things decrypted for long durations. I like the idea of spring-loaded key fobs that can’t be left plugged in.

People talking about key fob body implants don’t usually plan for removing them in seconds with plausible deniability.

Did you know? #MapComplete has a thematic map with vending machines. Is there one missing? Add it with a few clicks: mapcomplete.org/vending_machin…

in reply to Fabian 🌵

@fabianstadler Everything is #OpenStreetMap data, so someone added it. You can see the history of an object if you log in and press the green OSM-logo.

And if you know of missing vending machines, you can add them yourself too - that is why the button 'add new feature' is there ;)

in reply to MapComplete

Amazing, it's hard to believe someone went through the process of adding cigarette machines :blobcateyes: . I'll check if I find some missing things :ablobcatbongo:
in reply to Fabian 🌵

@fabianstadler Well, it is hard to believe what types of very specific things people have added to the map, but it all matters.

And make sure to checkout the other thematic maps as well - there will definitively be something there that interests you

in reply to Fabian 🌵

@fabianstadler There are so many weird and great things on OpenStreetMap. Check the "Surveillance under surveillance" map theme on MapComplete. And I myself added each and every tree in my city center.

in reply to modulux

in reply to Juanjo

in reply to modulux

in reply to Juanjo

in reply to Juanjo

in reply to modulux

in reply to Juanjo

in reply to Antonio Cascales
