Nach „Zeitenwende“, Corona-Pandemie und Trump-Wiederkehr tritt die digitale Kirche in eine neue Phase ein. Über Abbrüche und Neuanfänge einer Bewegung, die sich vom Silicon-Valley lösen muss.
Sehr gut zusammengefasst! Es gibt m.M.n. einige wenige, die progressive #digitaleKirche praktisch werden lassen. Dazu zähle ich z.B. @librechurch@kirche.social und ne ganze Reihe von Akteuren, die ich im Einzelnen hier leider nur unvollständig zusammenbringen würde. Aber generell auf die Kirche bezogen, habe ich kaum noch Hoffnung, dass sie in relevantem Maße bereit, willens oder erkenntnissmäßig in der Lage ist, im Digitalen das "menschenfreundliche" und gleichzeitig revolutionäre des Evangeliums zu probieren.
Indiz ist für mich aktuell, der Versuch, auf BlueSky alte Zeiten wieder aufleben zu lassen. Warum macht man die gleichen Fehler immer wieder?
Vor bald zehn Jahren hab ich diesen Text geschrieben, manchmal aktualisiert:

@fexplorer @librechurch Warum sollte man (ja zumeist Leute, die X den Rücken gekehrt haben, wie ich) nicht auf Bluesky zusammenfinden? In den Starter Packs, die ich da angefertigt habe, sind inzwischen weit über 300+ mehr oder minder aktive Nutzer:innen, die sich mit Kirche, Theologie und dergleichen befassen.
Darin kann ich keinen wirklichen Systemwechsel, Aufbruch, progressiv neues Denken von SocialMedia erkennen, der für mich praktische Anwendung der Freiheit des Evangeliums wäre.
Halt solange die VC Geber nicht mit dem Finger schnipsen. 🤑Darin scheint es sich ja nicht wirklich von andern fragwürdigen Plattformen zu unterscheiden, auch wenn es gute Ansätze hat...
Wir stecken in vielen Bereichen in digitalen Abhängigkeiten, die nicht ohne weiteres aufgelöst werden können.
In Sachen SocialMedia haben wir derzeit allerdings die Chance, uns in höherem Maße digital souveräner zu bewegen...
@fexplorer @librechurch Es hält uns ja niemand davon ab. Die Frage, was man dafür aber proaktiv werblich noch unternehmen kann, da die Lage ja schlimm ist und auf die Lösung drängt, aber offenbar nur ein Bruchteil der Leute mitmachen will, wird auch hier ja beharrlich nicht beantwortet.
Diese Frage kann hier wohl auch nicht beantwortet werden, da es noch an jedem selber liegt, sich zu entscheiden bzw. zu verhalten.
Nachdem ich Deinen Artikel gelesen habe, würde ich meinen, macht man sich wirklich in diesem Sinne auf, und bleibt beim gegenwärtigen Bluesky hängen, ist man vielleicht nur den halben Weg gegangen.
Weil Kirche ihre Verantwortung für eine gemeinwohldienliche Gestaltung der Digitalität erkennen und wahrnehmen sollte.
SM bildet mehr und mehr die gesellschaftlichen Diskursräume der Digitalität. So wie Kirche sich immer als ein Gestalter gesellschaftlicher Diskursräume verstanden hat, muss sie dies auch in der Digitalität tun, wenn sie noch eine Rolle spielen will.
@elottermann @fexplorer @librechurch Der Meinung bin ich nicht. Sie sollten sich auf Fediverse-Plattformen engagieren, aber mit der Bereitstellung digitaler Infrastruktur sind sie ohnehin überfordert.
Ja, das ist unser wahres Problem. Selbst die größten gemeinnützigen Organisationen geben sich mit der Gestaltung der Digitalität überfordert.
Ich sehe das aber eher als ein sich vor der Verantwortung Drücken.
Wer so etwas hier bereitstellen kann ecclesias.de/ kann nach meinem Verständnis nicht mit der Bereitstellung einer Fedi-Instanz oder eines Chat-Systems überfordert sein.

@elottermann @fexplorer @librechurch sorry für‘s verspätete Einsteigen, aber ich bin auch der Meinung, dass der Betrieb eigener Fedi-Instanzen eine super Möglichkeit für Kirchens wäre, ernst zu machen mit dem ethischen Anspruch an Teilhabe an der digitalen Gesellschaft. Das ist ja eine ganz andere Dimension als zB der Versuch, den 17. Messenger zu entwickeln.
Ich hab mich eigentlich immer für digitales und Kirche interessiert und engagiert, 2018 war ich da auch vorübergehend beruflich eingestiegen und betreue seitem immer noch ein klein wenig dig. Infrastruktur. Mir ist inzwischen fast alle Hoffnung abhanden gekommen, man würde da mal protestantisch im Sinne einer freiheitlich demokratischen Digitalgellschaft vorgehen. Für letzteres gibt es gerade in D eine recht breite kompetente Bewegung und Engagierte in technischen, politischen und rechtlichen Bereichen. Man lädt davon bei Kirchens gern mal jemanden zur Keynote ein, aber in der breiten Praxis, habe ich den Eindruck, kommen die Schlüsselpunkte nicht an.
Besipiel ist für mich aktuell nach wie vor BlueSky. Wenn die TheoBubble dort hängen bleibt, ist sie doch wohl auf halben Wege von der Traufe im Regen stehen geblieben. Es ist ein System, welches im wesentlichen auf den gleichen strukturellen Problemen der anderen kommerziellen, sog. SoMedias basiert. Wenn man das Potential eines, natürlich noch nicht perfekten, Systems, wie das auf einem offiziellen unabhängigen Standard basierenden FediVerse nicht erkennt, dann scheint mir der Schritt, solche Infrastruktur von der Institution her zu stärken, nahezu unmöglich zu sein.

I've mapped botnet professionally for a decade, and all that looking at IP addresses locations tells you is the geographical distribution of compromised devices. When you plot this kind of data of chart, you typically just get a heat map of population density, slightly skewed by economic factors. Nations with larger populations tend to have more devices, but developing nations tend to have a higher percentage of older less secure devices, which are more likely to be hacked and recruited into botnets.

Well, I'm officially a free agent when it comes to employment. Today was my last day with Atlassian. Atlassian has a public roadmap entry indicating what are defined as primary experiences in Jira, JSM and Confluence cloud will be WCAG 2.1 AA conformant in q3-4 of 2025. I first joined Tutanota when it was still called Tutanota, and I oddlt had the hardest time remembering the name. I believe that was the end of 2023. I was happy to see the site renamed Tuta. It makes it so much easier for me to recommend the service now. Although, I still have my Tutanota name. I finally subscribed as a paying customer, this month (March 2025).
I'm currently evaluating a secure and encrypted provider for all my email needs - Tuta is one of my favourites and Legend for a year would be perfect 🤞
As a paid customer I am with Tuta(nota) since 28.07.2016. That time a yearly subscription was only 12 EUR. But without calendar and quantum-safe encryption protocol.

@cch If your account is new (created after March 2024), you are already using quantum-safe encryption for all internal emails. You can also send quantum-safe encrypted emails to others with a shared password. If you choose to send normal emails, these will only be protected with TLS and not quantum-safe. That's the good and bad about email interoperability.

Potřebuju programovatelné tlačítko a nerozbitnost. Termokamera je bonus, ale viditelnost na slunci je o něco vyšší priorita. Peklo širokého výběru ;)
