New blogpost: Thunderbird, Nextcloud, calendar invitations, and unwanted html email with non-working 'confirm acceptance' links
Last week, someone kindly flagged a problem with how I'd got calendar invitations set up, and it was annoying me.
So, over the weekend, I fixed it :)

Nothing unlucky on our calendar today! Just an update on what we've been doing this summer for K-9 Mail/Thunderbird for Android. We have:

* Progress on the move to feature modules ➡️
* A call to help update our docs 📝
* And community contributions! 💪
It might be able to help with moving emails to the trash, but what I'm really after is not just automatic deleting of emails.
I'm after being able to use mail filters in my folders.
That would let me do many, many things beyond just deleting. For me personally, I set up filters to change tags, to forward when they're marked todo without being done for a certain length of time, to mark read/unread and more.
Filters are/were the #1 feature of #Thunderbird over webmail for me.
Just discovered that @thunderbird mail filters won't actually filter anything on any folder other than Inbox (even subfolders inside Inbox).
So all my "Delete after 1 week/month/year" rules weren't deleting anything, causing my mail to balloon out of control.
Does anyone know a way to get #Thunderbird to filter stuff in folders? I see old threads about extensions and arcane about:config settings, but nothing that seems to apply to current TB.
1000 fedipoints for the first correct answer!
If you follow us here, you might know the benefits of a email client over webmail, but if you or anyone in your life needs a refresher, we have you covered in a quick, informative overview of why email clients (like Thunderbird!) are the better choice: blog.thunderbird.net/2024/09/w…
The most important Thunderbird productivity add-on for me is certainly:
• QNote (or the similar XNote++) substantially increases my productivity!
followed by:
• Send later
• Correct Identity
• EDS Calendar Integration (essential on Linux/Gnome)
• Birthday Calendar
They all should be default in #Thunderbird!
It would be great if you could support Klaus (opto) from Nostalgy for his amazing work.

Just discovered the "Group by sort" feature in #Thunderbird.
Guys, this is an #ADHD / email #anxiety game-changer.
Now your inbox is clustered in groups:
* Today
* Yesterday
* Last 7 Days
* Last 14 Days
* Older
This lets you focus on a small group of emails at a time and whittle your way towards #InboxZero
FANTASTIC.
