This seems like a pretty good idea from @Fairphone. Phone subscription that gets cheaper the longer you have it and has a system in-place to reuse parts and recycle what can't be reused!

Whoa! Didn't see that one coming! Still, I'm cautiously optimistic about this. #K9 has been great for a long time, but short on marketing and funding. #Thunderbird has more recognition, but no #Android app. The two together could definitely be stronger than their separate parts. Plus, to be honest, I was wondering how long it would be before K9 got in trouble for the name/logo combo. This neatly sidesteps that before it's even a problem!

Einkbro is a seriously good tablet browser

I just need to mention it again.

This is an Android browser aimed at E-Ink devices (though it works for any Android device). It's optimised foir E-Ink's strengths and weaknesses.

That actually makes it a really good browser for reading content online, which ... it turns out a whole hell of a lot of present-generation mobile browsers kind of suck at.

The developer's also highly responsive and I've seen a few of my own issues and requests addressed, which is a breath of fresh air. Oh, and it's FOSS.

Anyone got an experience with using the various Telegram clients available in @fdroidorg ? I can see three options, all compatible with my ancient Android (6.x); Forkgram, Telegram FOSS, and Nekogram X, all of which were updated within the last month. No idea how compatible they are, or how fast they run on older hardware.

I've submitted a patch to the #AOSP to take the next step in what was probably, externally, my least popular contribution to #Android while I was at Google. Here's the reason I think it's time to go beyond deprecating `adb backup` and remove it entirely. alsutton.blog/post/adb-backup-…
