- what 'personhood' means in the web
- that 'freedom of speech' doesn't mean forcing other to listen to (& agree with) you
- and that you can work on a qualitative community of followers over a quantitative community

Until the time comes to reorder. If you’re not careful, your reorder will cost considerably more.

So what do you do?

Go back to the search engine, search for your specific brand of lenses + “cheapest” and follow the link to get the lower price.

I have discovered you can follow hashtags, which is basically how you can be your own algorithm.

I don't know how you do it in the apps, but in browser:

(1) click on a hashtag you want to follow,

(2) at the top of the list of posts with that hashtag is the little person symbol (see pic). Click it. It will turn the + to an x, that means that hashtag will now show up in your feed.

If you discover that your Microsoft 365 / Exchange mail account password is no longer working in Thunderbird, please take note of this:

Microsoft is force rolling out deprecation of normal password authentication, so you'll need to switch to "Authentication Method: OAuth2" in the account's Server Settings.

This should resolve your issue.

oh, wow, I didn't realize this was a brownout and not a total drop. Anyway, it'd be nice if Thunderbird made the migration easier. For SMTP, we had to create new servers and copy over the settings, selecting OAuth2 – the option wasn't there for the old outbound server.

Similarly, a wizard-nudge to select OAuth2 for servers that appear to be Exchange Online would be welcome.

Das Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht hat zwei Männer verwarnt, die Falschparker fotografiert und die Bilder an die Polizei weitergeleitet hatten. Dagegen reichten die Männer Klage ein. Das Verwaltungsgericht Ansbach hat den Klagen nun stattgegeben.

This. Wie war das mit "Gefahr für Leib und Leben"? Ein Zuparken der genannten Plätze stellt IMHO eine solche dar: für Radfahrer, Fußgänger, besonders für Seh- & Geh-Behinderte.

Da schwang man m.E. die "Datenschutzkeule" definitiv an der falschen Stelle. Urteil wird hoffentlich bald rechtskräftig.

Today, part of Google’s new Play Rules come into force, banning VPN apps which affect ads or tracking, seemingly including those affecting DNS queries to include an ad block list like PiHole does. No vested interest in those rules, clearly, from the company with their trackers in 87.6% of Android apps! (@RDBinns et al. arxiv.org/pdf/1804.03603v3.pdf) support.google.com/googleplay/…
Only apps that use the VpnService and have VPN as their core functionality can create a secure device-level tunnel to a remote server. Exceptions include apps that require a remote server for core functionality such as: (paraphrased) parental control, usage tracking, device security, network tools, web browsing, carrier apps.
The VpnService cannot be used to: Collect personal and sensitive user data without prominent disclosure and consent; Redirect or manipulate user traffic from other apps on a device for monetization purposes (for example, redirecting ads traffic through a country different than that of the user); Manipulate ads that can impact apps monetization.
