There's an interesting story in the Guardian this morning that rather disturbed me. I was particularly concerned that there's no consistent way to monitor these requests.

So I've done what I can to help, although helpfulness isn't my strong point.

Good morning Fedi friends!

A mini 🧵 following yesterday's heated reactions to my toot (mastodon.social/@_elena/114329…).

I have the utmost admiration for Carole Cadwalladr's work and advocacy. She's absolutely phenomenal.

The point I failed to make is that IF EVEN CC - who speaks so eloquently against the Broligarchy - ends up on bro-funded social and publishing networks, then we are all in trouble.

IMHO the tech stack we choose is a form of implicit endorsement. But we can resist.

Možná jste taky zaregistrovali spamující účet, co se vydává za „Nicole“. Chodí od ní otravné zprávy do DMs. Už jsem ji několikrát blokoval, ale pokaždé se registruje na jiné instanci.
Snažím se to průběžně blokovat, ale kdyby vám to taky přišlo, rovnou blokněte a případně nahlaste.

Chaotic Neutral Czech

Na Fediverse se už po tom, kdo je Nicole, někdo díval. Hlavně na Lemmy, kde nemáme ještě dost vyvinuté nástroje na blokaci. Viz komunita !nicole@feddit.org (feddit.org/c/nicole). Nejprve to vypadalo, že kdosi pomocí její identity (neoprávněně použitých obrázků a osobních údajů) provozoval otravnou kampaň. files.catbox.moe/csls12.jpg Před asi týdnem se ovšem objevily obrázky patrně mrtvého těla, takže admini zastavili diskuzi a předali info (vč. osobních údajů, které neuvádím) na policii.
