Метод: сосредоточиться на том, что можете и не тратить даже мысленную энергию на остальное.

2. Как выставлять приоритеты.

Нарисуйте табличку из 4-х квадратов. Подпишите каждый: "важное и срочное", "важное и не срочное", "неважное и срочное", "неважное и не срочное".
Впишите свои задачи в соответствующие квадраты. Сосредоточьтесь на важном и срочном, избавьтесь от ненужного.

The word "mastodon" in relation to social networks is a registered trademark owned by Eugen Rochko's Mastodon gGmbH organisation.

If you use a domain name which includes the word "mastodon", you can be sued by Eugen's organisation if you don't comply with their wishes:

Here it is. The latest track I’ve released, and the first video clip I’ve ever done. It is, of course, Space Pop (feat. Kaaren Elizabeth Smith).

Kaaren is a long time friend who I used to co-host a weekly karaoke night with, at a small town bar called The Reef back in the 90’s!!

One of the goals of the Dgar Project is to write new songs, and record them with friends that I have some kind of music related history with. When I got the opportunity to record with Kaaren, I took it.

Kaaren, on the day, was amazing. I sent her a demo of the track to practice and listen to a week earlier. She did some really quirky takes. It’s all her voice too. There’s no auto-tune. There’s no pitch correction. It’s all her. So much fun.

The “doo doo doos” she does was originally a melody I played on a distorted electric guitar. On one of the takes she does these “doo doo doos” over the riff. It just sounds so cool, I replaced my guitar track with her vocals.

One thing I particularly like about Rust — which I’m very new to — is how thoughtfully the compiler errors and warnings have been designed. It not only diagnoses and explains the problem: it provides a possible solution. Genius.

This is the essence of good design: it’s compassionate, anticipating the needs and wants of another person. I can’t think of another language that does anything like this. Certainly not Swift, not that I’m bitter.

A part of the Windows Win32k GDI module has been ported to Rust and has been merged into Windows — which means Windows will soon be booting with Rust in the kernel! 🥳🦀

Progress so far ~36 KLOC in the Rust port. Perf of the ported code has been excellent • No perf difference in Office apps (as measured by PCMark 10). • Micro-benchmarks show mostly no differences, with some wins for Rust. • Has driven changes upstream in Rust • More try_ methods for Vec that don't panic on OOM: completely safe Calls to extern functions means there's a lot of "unsafe" code • Currently 163 unsafe functions (~ 10%) and 271 unsafe blocks. But as we port more code, these have been disappearing. We've even been able to write a SysCall is completely safe code.

Rewriting the entire Windows operating system in Rust is not something which is realistic right now — the scale of the project is just too big for that.

Instead this is an experiment in targeting one of the most vulnerable parts of Windows, and rewriting *that*. And that’s been so successful, it’s actually going to be shipping soon! Which is a huge deal!

#Amberol 0.10.0 is out! After a tragic mess with a #GNOME run time update, and with lots of fixes accumulating over a development branch, I decided to spin up a release. Highlights:
- tweaked UI, to avoid confusing the waveform control and the volume control
- improved scaling of textures using #GTK 4.10
- ability to restore the last playlist at startup
- optional background playback

Plus the usual lots and lots of small fixes, tweaks, and performance improvements.
