This kind of treatment is exactly why I started @redox from scratch and written primarily in Rust. There is a lot of resistance to even minor beneficial change in Linux and related projects. I don't even try to contribute to the Linux kernel anymore.
Forgive the tangent, but now I'm curious, what's the state of GUIs on Redox? Might it be worthwhile for me to start looking at bringing up accessibility infrastructure and a simple screen reader on Redox, presumably based on AccessKit? It'd probably just be a spare-time project.

Aj nonstop predvolebná kampaň ich vytiahla z pred brány smetiska dejín až do vlády, takže "víťazná kombinácia sa nemení". Tak to teda vnímam ja a mám pocit, že im to, žiaľ, vychádza. Možno by sa mohli od nich niektoré strany predsa len občas niečo naučiť - s ľuďmi to, na našu škodu, vedia.
@herrman_sk Lenže teraz sú už vo vláde a v takých situáciách väčšinou strany vládnu, a potom si robia kampaň na základe toho čo urobili. V ich prípade je ale úplne jedno v akej pozícii sú, či sú vo vláde alebo v opozícii, či je pred voľbami alebo nie, stále sa správajú rovnako. Pre ľudí nerobia nič, pre seba všetko, a iba strašia bludmi aby zakryli to, čo (ne)robia.
A netvrdil by som, že to vedia s ľuďmi. Vedia to iba s hlupákmi, a s nimi to nie je také ťažké, keďže sú hlupáci.
@herrman_sk O tom by sa dalo polemizovať. Aj Hitller bol človek, ale ako človek sa nesprával. Takže ak niekto ubližuje iným, ťažko ho považovať za človeka, čisto z ľudského hľadiska.
Prepáč, nerozumiem ti. Síce chápem tvoju frustráciu, v tom sme spolu, ale ak v jednom príspevku nazveš cez 1,3 milióna voličov koalície nie ľuďmi, ale iba hlupákmi a potom to ešte skúšaš obhájiť takýmto prirovnaním k Hitlerovi... toto sa obávam, že nepomáha. Vážne nie. Ja viem, že najlepším argumentom proti demokracii je 5 minútový rozhovor s priemerným voličom, ale takto to je všade. Ak týchto ľudí budeš vnímať a nazývať hlupákmi, to im oči neotvorí - iba ich utvrdíš v tom, čo im ich vyvolený hovorí - že ich bakaní liberáli chcú zožrať.

Človek je že vraj najinteligentnejší tvor na našej planéte, tak nech sa tak aj správa. Ak ubližuje druhým napr. kvôli pomste ako to robia voliči vládnej koalície, tak žiaľ, tiež to pre mňa nie sú ľudia. Ja naozaj nemám potrebu tu robiť zo seba lepšieho človeka a tváriť sa, že nie som ako tí druhí, lebo toto nás presne dostalo do aktuálnej situácie. Veci treba pomenovať pravým menom a netreba zo seba robiť chrumkavých a hrať sa na moralistov.
Taktiež nemám za potrebu voličov vládnej koalície o niečom presviedčať, lebo opäť použijem argument s človekom ako najinteligentnejším tvorom na planéte - oni majú mozgy (aj keď často to tak nevyzerá) a taktiež majú možnosť rozmýšľať, takže ak im príde správne voliť fica, nikto im ich názor nezmení. Mňa tiež nemusel nikto presviedčať o tom, že fico je zlý a nemám ho voliť, prišiel som na to vlastným rozumom a úsudkom. Takže ak naozaj nie sú dotyční hlupáci, načo im je dobré otvárať oči? Ak by hlupáci neboli, tak otvorené oči majú dávno a nevolia fica.
Wow, English-only people (or Western languages, for that matter) are so naïve. In case you didn't know, the lang attribute is very important in East Asian languages.
Serious question. How do platforms that accept user-generated content handle this?
Take Mastodon for example, if three users send a post, one in Chinese, one in Korean, one in Japanese, and the app is international, how would this be handled? How should this be handled?
Are apps targeting the Asian market rewquiring the user to correctly fill in the "language" field each time? Are you effectively required to include AI-based language detection in each product? Are browsers truly unable to figure this out on their own when there's no lang attribute present?

today's devices come with an AI processor integrated. On my computer I have disabled it from UEFI settings. However, there is no such method on mobile devices. This means that I will never be able to upgrade my phone or computer.
It is a generally valid statement that AI can not be trusted, given that it can take its own decisions. So in order to actually benefit from it for specific use cases like photography etc, we have to be able to put hardware limitations on it.

Can we collectively add a thing to VS Code that pops up a really big warning when you control s any file that has aria-label in it that says "You probably don't wanna do this!" and won't let you proceed until you enter a very good reason for why you did this, which is then inspectable in the html source for all of us to see?
@piggo it actually used to have one! But really, windows has one, mac has one, linux has one that works with chromium and firefox browsers. So I doubt having a screen reader in Chrome would have made them care enough to try before production.
It would lower the barrier a lot, I tried twice to wrap my head around Orca and gave up. I for sure don't have the motivation like someone like you who actually needs it, but it's amazingly obscure
@piggo on windows you press control windows enter, and on mac you press command f5. On most linux distros you should be able to turn it on with super s, or super alt s. Anything after that is actually using the screen reader itself, which is sadly necessary to test functionality meant for screen readers. Building one into Chrome probably won't help you here as it would need to be similarly complex. Otherwise, the functionality you're testing for would be missing in the screen reader. But in Bitwarden's case, turning on any screen reader, focusing the website and pressing tab a bunch would have caught this problem.
@piggo that said though, I believe chrome's dev tools have an accessibility inspector which should have also definitely made this pretty obvious, no screen reader required.
@piggo ah well I'm trying it now and that does not seem to be quite as obvious as I expected. I'm still really confused as to how aria labels like that could happen though. I don't really understand.
@piggo yeah that is very unfortunate actually, because the aria is completely useless. Something that automated testing just won't catch I suppose since it wouldn't know what a good label would be.
Is there any chance we can encourage you to trend #NVIDIA when that's the company you mean, please? I know what their NASDAQ handle is, but #NVDA is much more widely known as the name of the screen reader we make and the #NVDA hashtag is very widely used for the screen reader.
