Van Aubel's theorem states that if you start with a convex quadrilateral and construct a square on each side, externally to the quadrilateral, then the line segments connecting the centers of opposite squares will be equal in length and perpendicular to each other.
The second piece I drew for the exhibition I’m taking a part of; and it took quite a while, but I’m super proud of it! I have one more illustration to do with that group of friends :)
This series is about reclaiming spaces that were not meant for humans.
Two things here: First, good luck to all the publishers and agents who will face a torrent of this glossy, incomprehensible shit over the next few years.
Second: For real creators, this will add to the growing swamp of unfiltered shit that new books find themselves in online. The sheer quantities that these can be produced in will make real books even harder to find.
Here’s an illustration I completed earlier this year, after the idea got stuck in my head and haunted me for weeks.
Every time I passed these roadside signs on the motorway, my head would start planning how to turn it into a shelter between settlements during a zombie apocalypse! I finally just sat down and drew it, and this is the result!

And, finally (there’s so much more but I’ll stop raving now and get back to work), the web-related features, like a built-in accessibility and scripting panel and access to the SVG source, styling, etc.
If you’re creating illustrations for the web (or, heck, in general) and you’re not using this absolute gem of an app, you’re missing out :)
And those little touches… notice how the curve that the selected Bézier control point is affecting is highlighted in purple. And you can simply pull along there to shape the curve instead of manipulating the control point handles.
