Not sure if I've talked about this here, but there are like, tons of stuff here. I'm gonna try that Linux distro through Crostini on my old ChromeBook that I don't do anything else with anymore. The VM's over the Internet are really cool too! The AT Museum is cool. And I'm curious to see if the Windows 2000/XP on **Android** works. That'd be trippy.

A lot of people are talking about alternatives to the Ladybird browser/browser-engine. I have a list in my site’s compatibility statement.
- Servo (Rust, some C++) and WeasyPrint (Python, some deps with other bindings) are probably the most capable alternative actively-developed engines.
- Dillo (C++) and Hastur (C++, requires Bazel) seem promising.
- If you have a VR headset, be sure to try Igalia’s Wolvic (Java).
- While NetSurf (C) works very well, development on its web engine seems to have slowed down a lot.
I’ve tried all except Hastur and Wolvic.

Yelp says it is dramatically increasing information about accessibility in listings on its site for restaurants and other locations, while also pushing businesses to become more inclusive.

Ähnliche Lustigkeiten kann man bei der #Erbschaftssteuer und anderen Sachen finden. Warum beschließen wir das nicht einfach? Wir sind viel mehr. 99%. Glauben wir alle ernsthaft, dass wir mal irgendwann zu dem einen Prozent gehören werden? Wollen wir deshalb alle lieber zugrunde gehen?
Für die Flugreisen müsste es entweder ein personengebundenes Limit an Meilen geben oder exponentiell steigende Steuern. Auch auf Meilen bezogen.

There's a fun little browser extension called "StreetPass for Mastodon", which notices if websites you're browsing have official Fediverse accounts:
When you check your StreetPass, it will show you a list of all the official accounts from the sites you've been browsing. It does this offline, your browsing data doesn't leave your machine, and the code is free open source.
Official accounts are detected by verification (more info: fedi.tips/how-do-i-verify-my-a…).

Listeners to my presentation over the weekend about AI in the workplace will note my observation that it would be wonderful if you could ask JAWS Picture Smart questions in advance of the image being submitted, such as, "Describe the pie chart only". I knew this JAWS feature was coming but could not say so. Here it is.
Very useful for example if you've submitted a form on a web site and you've not moved to the next screen. You can ask, "what are the errors in this form?"
You could also write, "solve this captia for me", without having to scan the image first.
I really believe in this additional enhancement.
Quoting David Goldfield: The July update for JAWS 2024 has been released. It includes an easier way of using Picture Smart, the ability to ask a question upon submitting an image, an alert warning if there's an issue with the image, like the window not being maximized, initial support for the new Outlook app replacing Windows Mail, lots of improvements to Web and Aria navigation, improved Teams support and lots more.
