Hello, we've just done a bugfix release of #GoToSocial v0.20.3, codename "Most Sinister Sloth 😈😈😈😈😈"!

This release contains some bugfixes for annoying little API issues, updates to robots.txt to forbid more so-called "ai" (🤢) crawlers, and a bugfix for polite interaction requests that will be useful when v0.21.0 comes out in a couple weeks.

If you're updating to this version from v0.20.0, v0.20.1, or v0.20.2, it's a very easy update with no db migrations.

If you're updating to this version from a version before v0.20.0, please follow the update instructions from v0.20.0, but replace 0.20.0 with 0.20.3 throughout. Be aware that the update to 0.20.x contains some potentially very long migrations. Please do read the notes carefully!

If you are currently on a snapshot / nightly build, stay on the snapshot / nightly build, as it's already ahead of this release.

Thursday, January 22nd, I had a meeting with a couple of employees from Instabridge, the company that has acquired Nova. One of those included the CEO, Carl, and various different things were discussed in that meeting.

So BitLocker is super secure, right? Well... BitLocker recovery keys are backed up to Microsoft's Cloud - and they give them out to law enforcement on request. Using the BitLocker recovery key, you can just unlock the device without a PIN etc.

Gisteren vond er een aanslag plaats op een protest van de Koerdische gemeenschap op het Operaplein. Wij waren daar ook aanwezig om onze solidariteit te tonen.
Er zal hierover nog communicatie volgen maar we willen al even reageren op een aantal artikels die hierover reeds in de Vlaamse media verschenen.
* De politie was niet "aanwezig om de manifestatie in goede banen te leiden." Daar heeft de Koerdische gemeenschap de politie niet voor nodig.
* Welgeteld één flik in burger heeft eerste zorgen toegediend. De rest stond er wat op te kijken. Het waren de omstaanders die voornamelijk de eerste zorgen hebben toegediend.
* Het was geen "pure chaos." Ja, het was verwarrend en beangsigend, maar de reacties van de meeste omstaanders waren snel en to-the-point.
* Sommige berichten spraken over een vechtpartij. Dit is pertinent onjuist.

Wij moedigen journaliten aan om verder te kijken dan wat de politiewoordvoerder hen vertelt en communicatie vanuit de politie met dezelfde voorzichtheid te behandelen als elke andere bron.

Ist bei @disroot eigentlich noch jemand zu Hause? Haben vor 3 Wochen versucht, für jemanden dort einen Mail-Account zu registrieren. Der steht bis heute auf "pending approval", also mehr als die per automatischer Mail angegebenen 48h. Support-Anfrage per Mail vor 3 Tagen auch nur auto-reply, dass man innerhalb 24h antworten würde.

Erwarte ja keine "instant action", aber so gar keine, ist irgendwie seltsam (und wenig vertrauenerweckend)…
