@jscholes It's internet streaming, usually tied to a TV plan for billing.
I know they sell "internet-only" plans now, but I don't know how good they are.
They also do some VOD, and some of that also has audio description.
@twynn Thanks to your feedback and comments from @miki, I've updated my original comment.
I think my primary aim was to highlight how disappointing it is that in 2007, the iPlayer was a pioneer in the space by being the first streaming service with described VOD material. Since then, they've barely innovated and have been taken over in the race, and in the UK you can still only watch live TV with AD if you have a TV receiver. There are no standalone IPTV services that pass through the secondary audio track(s).
this was meant to be a DM to myself to shame me into getting another strand when i reach the end of the floss.
sorry i’m just obsessed with this particular emote from the Frieren pack. it’s so perfect.
I can't tell what I had for lunch yesterday and I will 100% forget anything with no deadline attached or involving filling in a form.
But if we are having a conversation about a niche topic, bug, or thorny socio technical challenges you bet I am able to remember and produce a link to a GH issue, blog post, forum discussion or research paper almost right there and then.
Thank you #ADHD

We need to go back to putting programs on cartridges. If you want to do accounting you would need to turn off your computer, pull out the internet cartridge and shove in a different one.
If it crashes and you lose your work you could then call a special phone number listed in a magazine ad and talk to a teenager who will tell you to take Excel out and blow on it and try again.
There are no downsides to this proposal.
Can someone give advice on making some HTML code for a "Share on Mastodon" button to be placed on a website or blog?
I know we've had a thread about this before, but there was some disagreement over best solution. Would be interesting to hear latest thoughts on this!
(Asking as @heidilifeldman is in need of this code! 🙂 "I need code that creates a button and takes people to a URL from which to share.")

There isn’t a universal answer. Use keyboard nav on your own page and see what feels right. Often the answer isn’t reducing the number of skip links, but reducing the number of navigation widgets.
Most times, more than 2 skip-links is a design smell that points somewhere deeper than skip links themselves.
I’m glad serious eats wrote this article on top instant noodles. My list is similar.

The article interviews NVDA co-founders, Mick Curran & Jamie Teh, as well as Derek Riemer, who has used NVDA since 2011. Derek has contributed to NVDA itself & written over 20 add-ons. He also now works as a software engineer at Google.

@ludiofines Hi there, you can send encrypted emails to Gmail and other platforms by sharing a password with that recipient. They will receive an email to their Gmail account which includes a link to an encrypted Tuta mailbox where they can use the password to view your message.
We recommend sharing these passwords via an encrypted messaging application like Signal.

Oh look at this
So automattic/Tumblr's CEO is making the company email servers to redirect all mail from teamblind.com to his own personal address instead of the actual person who registered to Blind, so he can know who signed up using their corporate email (the only way to sign up).
Not only that, but by doing this, he could just go through the company email address list, hit the "forgot your password" link, and find out who already has an account, and even steal it.
Very sane, not creepy, absolutely not sociopath move, sire. Absolutely normal and not crazy maniac behavior.
