PSA, the new Android 16 update will surreptitiously reenable fingerprint device unlock even if you had intentionally disabled it before. Depending on where you live and your threat model, this might not be safe! Americans have little protection against law enforcement compelling biometrics unlock. To make matters worse, the fingerprint unlock settings are found in a different part of the security settings UI than the rest of the device unlock settings. If you update to Android 16, make sure your device unlock settings are what you intended.

Don’t use use a third party “metrics” or advertising stack in your application. Ever. The data gathered by such stacks is being sold, and among the buyers are fascists.

Documents show that ICE has gone back on its decision to not use location data remotely harvested from peoples' phones. The database is updated every day with billions of pieces of location data.
If you incorrectly use -H 'Foo=bar' instead of -H 'Foo: bar', #Curl will ignore it and not send the header field. Really unexpected and error inducing, I would expect it to validate the parameter and fail.
This might be a longshot, but I recently bought the AULA F108 Pro keyboard. The one part I missed about this keyboard is that it has a screen (I'm blind). Now, I didn't know what that screen does until I got it, but it turns out that's how you do something even as simple as pair the 2.4G dongle. There's a nob directly to the right, but I don't know how to get the keyboard into a good, known state where I can figure out where to turn it to get to 2.4G pairing mode. I was wondering if anyone has any advice here? The software isn't accessible either (I got it into wired mode somehow, probably default) to mess with it - though I can't say I'm surprised at this point. Thanks!
Woo! Nice!. I remember doing this a lot with roms on my Galaxy S7 before class, usually at about 8:30 am when class started at 8:45. Inevitably something would go wrong and I would be sat in class desperately trying to a) fix my phone and b) not be noticed trying to fix said phone.
Kind of miss those days, to be honest. Not many phones that have roms these days and the ones that do are now incredibly hit-or-miss for accessibility. It actually used to be a highlight of some custom roms when skins were bad and accessibility shortcut implementation was up to the manufacturer.
@fireborn I am mostly disappointed in the fact that things like TalkBack and god knows how many more tools are now all proprietary and require Google Play Services.

Yup. There is an open source version of Talkback, published by Google. In practice it’s years behind though and also will just randomly crash if you don’t have the rest of play services install. The Graphine OS project make their own, which is cool, but no tts engine due to licensing is still an issue.
I've tried Uninstaller Google packages from my phone (samsung ) (just Google apps like maps and youtube) some apps are indeed integrated with the operating system and this is so much stupid I can't even describe my frustration 😑
I would love to uninstall all gogle services off my phone. Even youtube because I dont use it. I really hope the EU puts enough pressure on this matter.
So if I understand correctly, Google was forced to do it too? I remember when Apple had to do it, and I thought back then that it's a much bigger issue in the Android ecosystem. Anyway, good decision!

I've more or less recently tested it (on either Android 14 or 15) and it worked just fine there. I also couldn't find any other FOSS app for the same purpose, just sketchy proprietary ones.
@Lenni good points – especially the question of alternatives. There might be 2 or 3, though, according to my list at android.izzysoft.de/applists/c… – but then again, I cannot really tell if those 3 are "sufficient alternatives". Did you see those already?
Looks like there are some alternatives there I didn't find earlier, so I guess it can be removed. I didn't test those however, so I have no idea if their feature sets are similar.

Just "being old" and "no longer maintained" alone are insufficient reasons for removal. No demand, not working, security issues are other points pro removal – being niche but still considered safe would speak against removal.

This brings back memories. I flashed my Cowon iAudio X5 with Rockbox. So that I can store more than 9,999 songs on it. (Remember that stupid rule because of some licensing reasons with the RIAA or such?)
recently got a 2007 iPod Classic to put Rockbox on it and use it to listen to FLACs instead of using my phone which requires a dongle to use good headphones with it!

He was charged under federal laws (including wire fraud and violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act) with up to 13 felony counts, carrying the possibility of decades in prison, large fines, and other penalties. Hello all @Tutanota! It is a free account. The error message is that I am inputing the wrong credentials. I got disconnected from the service randomly. When I try to put my email and password says it wrong, even though I didn't change a thing. Yes I do have my recovery code aswell but when I try to recover my account tells me the same thing, wrong credentials 😥
