I kind of like the idea of the new Zoom Essentials H6 and H1 as a combo, the H6 for when I need a bunch of inputs, and the H1 for ultra-portable. I now finally have some justification for upgrading, even though I don't record much anymore. I just hope the new recorders don't feel as cheap as the M2. Nothing about that device impresses me.
@Bri Zoom has designed the Essential Series with accessibility for the build and visually impaired. Navigate the menu with audible descriptions (English, German, French, Spanish…) through the built-in speaker or headphones.
@simon @Bri How would you even do TTS in 2024? eSpeak requires you to release your firmware as GPL. Acapela seems to be exiting the AT market and focusing on cloud and speech impairment. God knows what Cerrence is doing, and even if they still sell licenses, they're expensive. Eflite is English only. Ivona and Neospeech are gone. SVox Pico might be the best you can do, but it only does the most popular languages.
You just don't have that many options for TTS any more, if you don't have the expertise to build your own and don't want cloud.
@Bri No-one wants a recorder with a proprietary (or worse, non-removable) battery. I switched to rechargeable batteries years ago, now if I know I'll need extras, I just take them along. USB battery chargers are cheap. Much better to have charging functoinality separate from your recorder.
@Bri Yep still AA's. And I don't have a problem with that. I'd rather that than some weird format, or a built-in battery you can't change. Give me those AA's.
@Bri @simon Eloquence only does less than ten languages and requires licensing from Cerrence. Most AT that had Eloquence support also supported something else, for the markets where Eloquence wasn't available, AKA most of the world.

OSM API will remove support for HTTP Basic Auth, & OAuth 1.0a. You'll have to migrate to the modern OAuth 2.0 feature, which is very well supported.
The Operations Working Group is shutting down OAuth 1.0a and HTTP Basic Auth in 2024. They have been deprecated since 2023 and their role in authorization has replaced by OAuth 2.0 which the standard authorization method for most systems.

I chose Tuta cause Proton wasn't meeting my wants for VPN (no support for IWD on linux or IPv6) and their android email app didn't support google-free devices and wasn't on fdroid, so it just made sense to get out of their ecosystem and switch to mullvad vpn and tuta, which have been way better for me

One part of it is my subscriptions, all with unique randomized email addresses.Then two custom domains, one for me as a physical person and the other one for all my social media apps. Also with separate mail addresses. All mails will be rerouted into folders separatedby category. Would like Tuta to me my mail hub! Because you are so dedicated to privacy. Title encryption is fantastic, and the Tuta app is much lighter than other e-mail apps. It would be great if Tuta could clean tracking links as Proton mail.

Currently the best email service for my own projects. Best company that cares about user privacy, data and their own employees. Not overpriced like some other email services and actually supports schools and open source projects.

amongst other #privacy encrypted emails Tuta appeared a promising one. There was the encryption, the open source factor; GNU license. For disadvantaged souls it was giving 1 GB free, then came the voluntary 1 euro per month affordable for someone who wanted to donate. Other services started at a few Euros per months not so affordable. The external box for correspondence to those without a tuta account was a good addition, although not as good as another service with timed deletion.

I've been using tutanota for 3 years at this point, and when I started I was hardly aware of all the privacy concerns. All I knew was that gmail could read all my emails and i was not fine with that, so I looked around for a better service and found Tuta and it's philosophy and design just clicked.
I´m subject to mobbing: that means, that I even cant make use of a phone, to call for example a dentist, without talking to someone mobbing me and saying things like I don’t get treatment anymore at all and telling me being sorry because of the fact, that I wont ever receive treatment for my teeth anymore. I cant make use of a smartphone due to this circumstances. But neither the less, if I need correspondence by using email, I totally rely on tutanota.
the fact that tutanota is Made in Germany is my main reason. In all my years of following repositories, such as, git, projects by engineers in Germany have been the least to simply not work. The concept of privacy built on a culture of computer engineering that has a history of reliability, efficiency and trust, therefore creates a condition that tutanota will be a great service. further, i will add, transparency in commerce is an important value.

Me and my friend, not so long ago, decided that we have had enough to be part of the google echo system, and decided to branch out to other services.

By using Tutanota I get less spam in my email and less annoying marketing. It's incredible how much declutter is here compared to Gmail. I feel the peace of mind when checking my Tuta mails.

Milestone for now is comprehensive protection: best antiviruses, changing passwords for super strong, Yubikeys and... mail. I chose Tuta primarily because of the privacy and no Big Tech tracking. The thing that swung me to you rather than another private provider was your desktop app and offline mode.
I use Tutanota because of having a very good experience with the free service and the step to a paid plan was very small, because of the small price for a premium service that goes all the way for privacy. I like the team spirit and the speaking out and saying what needs to be said alongside providing great software. Also the possibility to send from my own domain through the secure servers with the premium plan is awesome!
It has an excellent support team, a sleek interface (much better compared to other email providers), easy-to-follow-and-change settings, and most importantly, it's based on the EU soil - providing me with the best security and #privacy laws possible.
It's not important, but I also like the way Tuta did marketing. Also, portraying their team in black and white colors looks genuinely creative. Sounds weird to say it, but I am being serious here.
