Outreachy corporate sponsorships and grants have been drastically reduced since 2022. This means Outreachy can't offer as many internships to people who face discrimination and systemic bias in tech. Outreachy's normal 60 to 70 intern cohorts have been reduced to 25 to 35 interns.

@x0 @fireborn Chat GPT didn't do it first, Spotlight did it first (that I know of, not surprised if something like Sherlock did it earlier). Then it was Albert, Launchbar, Raycast and all the other similar apps. They're just porting this (useful) Mac convention to Windows.
@fireborn To be fair, they probably think of the classic Alt+Space as an archaic holdover from 30+ years ago when Windows 3.x and below had to be operable on PCs without a mouse. We'll adapt. We always do.
@fireborn @miki My actual gripe is stealing the existing shortcut when they've already got one, as alt+space needs to be used by things already. Maybe they're just trying to unify things, but in that case the keystroke for the system menu needs to be rebound and that's gonna break all the muscle memory. The system menu is necessary, apps can add their own shit there it isn't always the default actions which can be accomplished with other shortcuts.

Wow. I love relaxing games. Man I should seriously go back to playing stardew valley. I see the game you're playing is more extensive, with buildings, stuff to battle, etc. Which is pretty cool, to be fair. @tardis #Valheim is brilliant. I love the game and it’s cozy feel. The building is excellent fun. But to do the real exploring and progressing, food is probably the most important aspect of the game, and if you don’t plant the crops, the crops don’t get planted, and food can’t be made. It’s just getting very grindy for me and isn’t fun anymore.
