LibreOffice 24.2 will be released as final at the beginning of February, 2024 ( Check the Release Plan ) being LibreOffice 24.2 Alpha1 the first pre-release since the development of version 24.2 started in mid June, 2023.

And btw. i assume, it is possible to develop add-ons for #LibreOffice... how do they check a matching version? As something like "works with 7.x" (checking on major version 7 in the source code) would be no longer possible, right?
And are you sure, that end users will recognize 24.2 as February 2024? 😉

I'm not a fan of this new versioning system #libreoffice is moving to. It makes me feel like they will do releases even if they aren't quite ready just to hit their dates. Hopefully it works out because I definitely love LibreOffice and I hope they stick around forever!
