I'm hoping Games for Blind Gamers 3 jam will be the most successful yet! Why not click join and think about making a blind accessible game? Even a short one is great! itch.io/jam/games-for-blind-ga… #GameDev #IndieDev #A11y #accessibility

Does anyone here have Linux? Specifically maybe Ubuntu?

If so, could you install the Playtest of my game Rocket (Not the Demo, just the Playtest), and see if it works in your Linux?

Really appreciate the help, thanks!

#Yaga #mod for the #Gothic #game status update.
Recently the Open Gothic reimplementation of the ZenGin engine became quiet stable which let me to wonder whether it wouldn’t be easier to port YAGA to this engine, instead of relying on the Union SDK which is basically a set of reverse-engineered classes of the original ZenGin engine. This way, we get macOS compatibility, future-proof support for future Windows releases, ETC. That means a lot of Yaga’s code base would have to be rewritten from scratch, but that’s with the benefit.
Tell me what you guys think, and let’s comment on this issue if you have some valuable insights

Hello everyone! This is the very first open test of my blind accessible game engine called Unseen RPG Engine, a niche game engine that allows anyone to easily make turn based RPGs, at least that's the goal! This is very early and the purpose of this is to try and start getting the critical feedback I'll need to make this accessible, usable, and fun. Learn more about it, join the discord community, and download it here! ericbomb.itch.io/the-unseen-rp…

Hi everyone! Can anyone who depends on a screen reader read this for me and tell me if it works? I'm making a tutorial on how to make a Roguelike for my blind accessible game engine, so just wanna make sure it's in a good format! It will have informational and instructional content split up to hopefully make it easier for screen readers to find what is needed. Download .txt sample file here!

So my tool that I'm making is being made with Game Maker. Game Maker doesn't have built in Text To Speech capabilities, so I hired someone to make a DLL for GameMaker so GMS2 games can now work with NVDA, SAPI, JAWS, and a few others I never heard of! If you use GameMaker, check it out since it's licensed under LPGL! Also tell the developer they did good because they did!

In an hour, we'll hop on ye olde stream machine once more and take a thorough look at #hearthstone. I'll go over the efforts that were made to make the game work for a #gamerWithoutSight, and we'll play through various modes while trying to have fun and answer any questions anybody might have about the channel, the game, its accessibility, or stuff in general! :) Come find me over at twitch.tv/game4access #twitchStreamer #gaming #accessibility #gameDev

When designing #UI and #UX, consider the "Golden 8-bit Ratio".

Text was never hard to read on 8-bit systems. A single character, generally 8x8, was a large enough portion of the screen to remain legible at distance (ie TV).

The textmode ratio of 40 or 80 chars wide by 25 chars high is a standard on MANY microcomputers and terminals. On terminals, this ratio exists today.

Consider making your text at least this large. Tiny text is really, really shitty.

The next alpha of 0 A.D. will feature an experimental Vulkan backend! It took 1.5 years of refactoring to get there but it will open new opportunities in the future!

You can test it and report bugs by downloading the development version of the game.

Hej #gamedev! Help needed💛

I'm making a #indiegame where you play as a #dinosaur to find out about your past, as well as take care of a baby #Daspletosarus. It's called Zid Journey!

It's a sequel to cozy #pointandclick #adventuregame Zniw Adventure and features charming cartoony artstyle.

I enjoy #paleontology (both exctinct and extant😉) so the game is full of age- and place- accurate #prehistoric creatures.

Any good places can promote my game? Are there any sites that can write about it?

So I suppose a little #introduction is in order! I'm an indie game developer working on Farewell North. You play as a collie on a journey with your human through the Scottish Highlands to restore color to the world!

I mostly post about #gamedev and #indiegames, and you can also find me on YouTube and TikTok
