As people might know, I maintain "pypandoc".

But did you know, that 'pypandoc' actually have 2 packages on PyPI?

The regular 'pypandoc' package that people typically install.
And then it also has 'pypandoc_binary' which comes with a version of pandoc packaged - so you can get started right away.

pypandoc_binary, for the first month, just surpassed 1.000.000 downloads in the last 30 days.

That's amazing news.
That means, that the total pypandoc project has been downloaded over 4.500.000 times over the last month.

I guess it would be relatively easy to write a #markdown to LaTeX converter

There are also LaTeX plugins for #obsidian for equations and mermaid.js.org support for diagrams.

As my findings in my #GeneticProgramming research are becoming more and more thorough, I have started to document them. The main problem in my runs is still lack of diversity.

PS: It could be nice if we could write papers in some dialect of #markdown

PS2: These writings are for myself to remember where am I and where I'm going. No academic paper yet :)

I've been working on a thing for a few weeks, and I'm hoping there are #Language / #FileFormat / #Markdown nerds and experts on Mastodon who can provide some input and sanity-check.

I looked for an existing markdown extension file format that would allow me to write a document in multiple languages, and I couldn't find anything that fit the bill.

So, I decided to create my own. 🤷‍♂️
