I would love to see #LibreOffice include US postal coding for addresses (the coding just above the mailing address). I know there are some add-on that do this, but they have not worked for me in my experience.

I do like privacy protections, of course. However my experience with the GDPR hasn't been good. It becomes incredibly bureaucratic, and has hindered internal investigations into wrong doing in some #iww proceedings.

Gute Wahl. Habe mich auch für eins entschieden. Auch wenn der Klang der Lautsprecher wirklich schlecht ist. Da die meisten 3,5 mm Buchsen mittlerweile wirklich grottig sind, vermisse ich den Anschluss nicht. Dafür USB-DAC plus gute Kopfhörer. Ergibt ohnehin das bessere Musikvergnügen. Bei mir läufts mit #Iode. Das Gerät dürfte aber gern kleiner sein für meinen Geschmack. Alles in Allem sehr zufrieden. Gerade wegen Nachhaltigkeit aus Überzeugung dafür entschieden.

@WestphalDenn Ich habe ein FP3 und bin happy. Ich denke, es ist immer eine Frage der Gewohnheit und Prioritäten bei so nem Gerät. Nachhaltigkeit, Reparierbarkeit und erhoffte fairness sind da bei mir einfach weit oben, und auch ein fp3 ist für mich gut nutzbar.
@Lock Mein Plan ist durchaus auch, es lange zu nutzen. Gerade mit Custom ROM und ohne Googledienste, die einem den neuesten heißen Scheiß unter die Nase reiben wollen, tut es halt einfach.
@WestphalDenn absolut. Und wenn das Ding mal ins kochende Nudelwasser fällt, kannst du es direkt auseinander nehmen, ordnungsgemäß trocknen und zusammenbauen, und es läuft einfach wieder wie vorher.
@2r11 An der Größe kann man nichts machen leider. Und aktuelle Smartphones mit Kopfhörerbuchsen klingen leider wirklich schlecht. Da ist man besser mit einem USB-DAC bedient. Alternativ Kopfhörer mit USB-C-Anschluss. Wäre aber wirklich cool, wenn es ein Fairphone Mini gäbe.

To answer another dalek-related question: we know our visitors. They're awesome. Many are not typical/stereotypical museum visitors. It's entirely possible that a visitor: 1. Owns a concrete dalek 2. Takes it out with them 3. Is sufficiently neurodivergent to not notice a heavy concrete object falling out of their bag.

Al final sin una limpieza total del sistema no hay remedio posible, pero por lo menos tendrían que exponerse a que una sala compuesta por varios magistrados estuviese a favor, en vez de un solo juez que les haya tocado bien por reparto.

Es kommt gerade sehr regelmäßig vor, dass ich solche Post bekomme. Das Bundesamt für Justiz hat sich jetzt auch die Mühe gemacht, mir einen bereits digital zugestellten Barrierefreiheits-Prüfbericht auszudrucken und nochmal per Post zuzuschicken. Wie immer hat der ganze Prüfbericht am oberen Rand einen dicken schwarzen Balken, der auf jede der 72 Seiten gedruckt wurde.
Eine Verwendung für den Print hat niemand und er ist für mich nicht barrierefrei. Verwaltung in einer Nussschale. #Inklusion
Ich finde es alles andere als Fair, "die Verwaltung" als ganzes so anzugehen. Auch von "Geheimniskrämerei" zu sprechen ist gelinde gesaagt schon eine harte Übertreibung. Wohin soll es sprachlich noch eskalieren, wenn du bspw. mal mit dem BND zu tun hast? So wenig, wie es dir passt: Es gibt u.a. Dokumentationspflichten, die je nach Anfrageart analog sein müssen bspw. über Postausgang. Da ist die Politik aber anzusprechen, die die Vorgaben machen und nicht Ausführende anzupöbeln.
@WestphalDenn "Geheimniskrämerei" bezieht sich auf den Inhalt der Dokumente, wo Informationen als Geschäftsgeheimnisse einer Privatfirma zurückgehalten werden, die allerdings dem Bund gehört und in diesem Fall auch ausschließlich für den Bund tätig ist. Das ist inakzeptabel und aus meiner Sicht auch nicht rechtens. "Die Verwaltung" macht hier extrem unterschiedliche Dinge. Manche senden mir den Kram nur digital, wie es ausreichen würde, andere murren ewig über Postsachen.
Ob das moralisch in Ordnung geht, darüber kann man durchaus streiten. Körperschaften können aber durchaus auch privatwirtschaftlich agierende Unternehmen gründen. Die Rahmenbedingungen sind gesetzlich geregelt. Da kann es Unterschiede auf Kommunal- Länder- und Bundesebene geben. Für mehr Transparenz muss die Politik sorgen. Persönlich finde ich, dass das "muss" wörtlich zu nehmen ist.

It's so funny that one of the oldest provident funds in the world is the Malayan one (now known as EPF in Malaysia and CPF in Singapore). It's older than any iteration of this territory as a postcolonial state (1951). The easiest way to think of it is a pension scheme for the private sector - but that's such a leftwing thing to say here if I were to use that description I evidently will blow people away. Consequently people are more encouraged to think of it merely as a savings fund, a convenient framework as every successive generation of neoliberal seek to externalise any public obligation and social welfare. The big con that really got going in COVID era is the political encouragement to have people demand the right to 'withdraw their savings'.
Anyway, as political compromises go, this seems fine but if anyone wants free advice, that's below this post.
Tak tak. Taky jsem koukala, že design se hodně zlepšil. Což bych u aplikace za nějakou tu kačku na GP čekala. Jinak mi tam ale stejně chybí nějaká ta funkce. Telegram to měl vymakanejsi, ale holt telegram.
@Milu Já mám jako hlavní messenger Matrix, ale xmmp používám už od seznámení s Linuxem v roce 2008. Matrix je také Opensource a decetralizovaný, je možné přes mosty přijímat a odesílat zprávy i z ostatních messengerů. Tak mám whatsapp, telegram, vše v jedné aplikaci.
Tak to jsem tedy netušila, že to je takto propojené. Matrix neznam, kouknu na to. Ačkoliv migrace bych se bála. On ten server či conversation sám o sobě dělá v komunikaci s jinými servery problémy. A bála bych se, opět řešit spojení s lidmi. Na dálku radit moc nejde. Takže jsem ráda, že to funguje aspoň mezi námi co mají conversation. @martin
@stepan Zrovna třeba Telegram, Google Messages fungují dobře a nemusí být v mobilu. Já Whatsapp mám jen kvůli práci a aspoň je vše v jedné aplikaci. @pvagner
