For those who don't know about it yet, here is a tool, called Audio Game Manager, that lets you play lots of Windows audio games on Linux. This might be useful to be put on the BT Speak, connected to a USB keyboard or Gamepad of course.

@fireborn It's possible for a custom overlay to be created with BrlTTY that could make some audiogames relatively playable on a BTSpeak, particularly sidescrollers. But one problem with AudioGameManager, it will quite obviously not work on Arm hardware because Wine can't emulate x86 Windows apps on Arm. So AGM itself is more or less a nonstarter on the platform. In other news, I did attempt running the MineRacer arch64 binary on the unit. Turns out...

Each month we host a community call. That's your chance to ask us anything, give us compliments (🫶), advocate for this one feature request that you really need implementing.

The next one is up tomorrow! Saturday 13 July, 18:00 CEST. Time in your time zone to note it in your agenda?? timeanddate.com/worldclock/fix…

Every #GNOMECalendar user owes a HUGE amount of gratitude to @khemicalkoder for solving the timelines backend bug that flew under the radar for years! It was causing at least two heisenbugs and obfuscating testing for a bunch of other bugs in the #GNOME calendaring application. This merge request was absolutely amazing: gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-c…

In addition to the 2 bugs fixed, these two other issues become clear enough for newcomers to fix:
* gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-c…
* gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-c…

Hiya! I'm a programmer looking for full-time work in the SF Bay Area (or remote!)
I'm primarily a Python dev, but I've got significant experience in Java, C#, C++/C, Ruby, and JS.

I've focused a lot on Continuous Integration in recent years but I've got experience with in-house tool development, embedded software, back-end server stuff, and UI/Web/HIL test automation.
I've a lot of experience in digitization/archival work.

gotosocial users following our snapshot releases, i hope you enjoy seeing video thumbnails (finally!), support for audio types, and in general more new media types than you can shake a stick at!

note we are still tweaking and optimizing things, but this ultimately may end up increasing memory usage of your instance. usage reports of those on the snapshot releases are much appreciated.

*due to some other ongoing work to add interaction policies to statuses, you may also notice a new database migration that may take quite a long time. we're doing what we can about this but it has been known to take over an hour on very large instances. please absolutely do not cancel this part way through!

but you should already be expecting these kind of warnings if you're a daredevil running snapshot releases ;) *

My friend Maja recently purchased a Hang drum and recorded this improvised track with it. I liked it so much I wanted to put a track around it, so I threw it into Logic, let it work out all the tempo changes as it wasn't recorded to a click and added piano, bass and drums. This is the result.

Now that the storm has passed — I can share an update on screen reader support under Wayland.

As part of STF; GNOME has been working since the end of last year on resolving the matter.

The main issue is that we currently lack a way to “snoop on” or “grab” key events from the compositor.

We now have a draft protocol and implementation in Orca and Mutter thanks to @matt

We are doing our best to get it ready for GNOME 47.
