One of my hobbies is to collect information about where curl is used. The following car brands feature devices, infotainment and/or navigation systems that use curl - in one or more of their models.
what could help, public "hall-of-fame" lists for FLOSS with current and historic sponsors? or that would not make a difference for the enterprises when the stuff can be used free or change anyway..
Friends of mine know that I've tried for a long time to get confirmation that curl is used in space. We've believed it to be likely but I've wanted to get a clear confirmation that this is indeed the fact.

Good article but it really hurts to read this as it makes me wonder what else in the article is misleading. We have a co2 sensor not an oxygen sensor. You only get the feeling of suffocating from co2 build up; it's painless for other gases like nitrogen, carbon monoxide, etc. When you pass out you don't get the reflexive breathing either -- those last gasps of death, essentially.

I think they just "deduplicate" contributors. If I have multiple e-mails assigned to my GitHub account and commit with them, they are all matched to that single account.

I noticed that if you contribute to a project with an email which is not linked to your contributor account, you are not listed in this contributors list
@vick21 @ppatel Lots of fixes - in Word, browse mode, elements list, windows 11. Improved performance in the start menu, support for Windows 11 Voice Access, options to report language & move to more heading levels. Support for NLS Zoomax eReader, new braille & espeak-NG languages, improved Monarch support.
And most importantly, OneCore now reads the version properly! (Please don't make us put out a point release 🤣)
Many new things! Earth shattering? Maybe not, but incremental improvements :)
@ppatel @vick21 Trying to answer "What is great about this new version" is always tricky - yes I can give you the highlights, and where one user will say.... "Meh, there's nothing there I'm interested in", another will pick out one feature as the greatest innovation in computing. Of course there are always other little fixes and improvements which don't make the highlights and will still be appreciated, just for making something slightly more efficient or read something a little better.
@vick21 I know. I was being facetious by the way. Operating system access, for the most part, has become unexciting. Adding efficiency to my daily routine with something like VoiceAccess is exciting to me. I wonder what would happen if you take a historical look at all the new version announcements.
@ppatel @vick21 Oh and that is probably the perfect feature for this - there are some users who would say "I would never use voice access", and other users who would say "I need this every day and am so glad to have it available now" :)
@ppatel @vick21 A bit late to the party... I am the person responsible for introducing Windows 11 Voice Access support to NVDA. In fact, NVDA had Voice Access support long before NVDA 2025.2 became available in August 2025 through a little add-on called Windows App Essentials.
@ppatel No need to be modest! This does sound like an amazing upgrade! BTW, when you say “improved support for Monarch”, what does this mean? Can I use Monarch’s multiline features with NVDA? BTW, I am a VoiceOver user, so just really curious!
@vick21 @ppatel NVDA can already use the full display to show paragraphs of text, though only the CURRENT paragraph. We're still working on the ability to show additional paragraphs on blank lines if the current paragraph doesn't take up the full display.

Last week, I started an Ableton Move track. Today, I finally finished it.
This is a thing I call "Fly on the Wall." Basically, I just wanted an excuse to use one of the Sliced Loops presets, which are in the latest Move beta, along with one of the new autofilters in combination with a second filter and LFO to make one of the included single-sample E-piano patches sound less boring.
I just automated the amount that the LFO affected the autofilter, which in that instance was a high pass with a sine wave LFO that essentially created a non-linear panning effect.

Github's home page (when logged in) gave me a button that says "My open pull requests".
Not only is this a scripted button that cannot be opened in a new window.
The button does not lead to a page that lists your open pull requests.
This made me sad. I feel like that GitHub will become more bad now. Not saying that the A.I driven course was great to begin with. But with this the values of what used to be GitHub will erode, and the product as a whole start to dwindle. In short let the enshittification begin!
How does this change the cost benefit of keeping curl on GitHub? Is the sponsorship/free CI still too high value to be able to afford to walk away from it?
@gbargoud their sponsorship is worth A LOT in monetary value. In the 5-digit USD/month range. We don't have any other sponsor lined up to cover that, meaning that moving away would be a significant blow. We rather not take that hit if we can avoid it.
